This opening set of 'cover versions' is inspired by the songs of one of my favorite albums, The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

All these works are synthetic digital artworks created by AI processing. I aim for particular rough painterly style that I achieve using prompt-phrases and keywords designed to distort and interpret. My creative process is to use successive AI images as a base for the next one, breaking the processor's tendency towards cliché.

The process is quite long - AI is skewed very much towards photo-realism and stock solutions. To screw up the process - so that the works follow a look and feel of my own direction - is key. There's a lot of trial and error to this process, and it takes time to achieve these works. Some of these images have been through the processor many times.

Through my work as a designer and artist I have a sense of when the image is derivative of any particular photographer, artist or movement. I know AI has a reputation for scraping the net for inspiration, so I'm looking to create something new.

This Sergeant Pepper set is my way of introducing my AI 'art'. I'll be working through my favorite songs over the next few months, and I hope that you enjoy the show.
