🍕 How a pizza shop became part of the community.
We sit down with Eric Braden from Lost Pizza Co. Ocean Springs to talk about what makes a restaurant feel local — the atmosphere, the people, and the culture that keeps folks coming back.

This one’s about food, hospitality, Gulf Coast identity, and building something real — not just another chain.

🔥 In this episode:

🍕 The Lost Pizza Co. backstory and how it landed in Ocean Springs

🧑‍🍳 Why good vibes matter just as much as good food

🔥 Smokin’ The Coast is back — and this year, Friday night belongs to the kids.

The Trident Foundation - Krewe of Neptune is turning the Biloxi Great Lawn into a Halloween Trunk-or-Treat village — but instead of cars, the kids get to walk up to full BBQ rigs decorated with lights, costumes, and candy. 🎃🍭🔥

It’s free to bring the family out on Friday night.
Safe. Fun. Coastal.
The way we do it here. 🌴

Then Saturday, the heat turns up.
Pro and backyard teams compete for Memphis Barbecue Network points, food trucks roll in, the music starts, and the whole lawn smells like smoke and seasoning. 🐖🎶🍻

This event isn’t just about good food — it funds real disaster relief and supports local families who need it most.
That’s Coast life.
We show up. We feed people. We take care of our own. ❤️

Drop a 🔥 in the comments if we’ll see you out there.

Smokin’ The Coast BBQ Competition returns to Biloxi with two days of great food, family fun, live music, and a Halloween Trunk-or-Treat night for the kids — all benefiting local disaster relief efforts.

Smokin’ The Coast turns Friday night into a full Trunk-or-Treat with the pitmasters handing out candy 🎃🔥🍭
Safe, fun, family-night on the Biloxi Great Lawn.
Bring the kids. Bring your crew.

31/10/2025

🎃🔥 This isn’t your average BBQ competition — Friday night turns into a full-on Halloween Trunk-or-Treat.

The pro pitmasters themselves came up with the idea — decorate the smokers, light up the rigs, and let the kids run around filling their bags with candy while the grills stay hot.
And the best part? It’s completely free to bring the family out.

This is Gulf Coast community at its best:
🍖 World-class BBQ teams
🎃 Kids in costumes
🍭 Candy everywhere
🎶 Music + good vibes
🌴 All happening on the Biloxi Great Lawn

If you’ve been looking for a safe, fun spot to trick-or-treat, this is it.
Bring your people. Bring your appetite. Bring the kids.

Smokin’ The Coast is gonna be a vibe. 🔥

🔥 Most people think fire destroys the forest...but down here, it SAVES it.

Prescribed burns clear the underbrush, open the habitat, and prevent wildfires — when they're done right. That means fire lanes, good weather, and knowing how to handle a flame that can jump miles. 🌾🌿

31/10/2025

Most people were taught that fire is always bad in the woods… but down here, it’s actually what keeps the ecosystem alive. 🔥🌾
Randy and Jake from Office of Coastal Resource Managment explain why the Mississippi Coast needs prescribed burns to clear underbrush, reduce wildfire fuel, and restore natural habitat. 🌱

They break down how crews use fire lanes 🚜, watch humidity & wind 💨, and even rely on swamps and bayheads as natural firebreaks. 🌊
This is the part of conservation most folks never get to see — the hands-on, boots-on-the-ground work that keeps the land healthy for hunters, wildlife, and everyone who lives outdoors. 🦌🌴

🎣 Some charter trips aren’t ruined by bad fishing… they’re ruined by a bad captain.
Heavy Metal Charters breaks down why the person running the boat matters more than the bite.

🌊 Fishing is supposed to be an experience — not just a numbers game.
😄 If the vibe is right, the day is right… even when the fish aren’t.

🥩🍰 A butcher shop and a bakery under one roof — only in Ocean Springs.
In the heart of Midtown (a name they’re proudly trying to make stick), Butcher Baker is redefining what it means to eat local on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Built from a love of charcuterie, scratch-made pastries, and community, this neighborhood spot sources fresh ingredients straight from area farmers and fishermen. 🌾🐟 Every visit feels a little different — and a little like home.

As co-owner Michael said on Brown Water Banter,

> “We wanted a place for locals to come… Downtown’s great, but we could be your neighborhood butcher shop.”

The result? Great food, good people, and a warm Midtown vibe that’s catching on fast. 🌊
