In one of our first interviews, Quiksilver and Roxy APAC Team Manager, @samueltgriffiths, spoke highly of Indonesian youngster @riowaida_. We’d already seen a fair bit of him by then, including his participation in the 2016 @quiksilver Young Guns (which he eventually won). Since then, Waida’s only gotten better and even beat Gabriel Medina in his maiden CT heat at Keramas. We’re big fans and you should be too. It’s not uncommon for us to read comments that automatically downplay women’s surfing for no reason at all. Think the classic “big turn for a woman” or “best barrel by a female?” (left on one of our very own posts). We could watch @danedamus surf for hours on end. There’s something about his big-man approach we just can’t shake. Maybe, it’s the way that he covers so much ground with so much speed. Having a day job means you have to be selective about how you spend your lunch break. For me, when I want to completely destress, I sit in the sun and watch new surf clips. Today, not only did I watch Mitch Crews’ new clip ‘Don’t Frown During Lockdown’, it was all I could think about in the lead up to my break.
