Exciting News! We’re Headed to SelectCon Atlanta!
We're thrilled to announce that we've been selected by APT-122 to participate in this year's SelectCon Atlanta event on June 1st! This event, hosted by UnitedMasters and sponsored by Crown Royal, promises to be a fantastic experience.
Join Us on the Journey!
We'd love for you, our readers, to follow along as we prepare for SelectCon. From initial planning stages to the final setup, we'll be documenting the entire process over the next few days!
With 2,100 miles to travel and a tight deadline of June 1st, we have a lot to accomplish. Get ready to see the excitement unfold as we pack, travel, create a custom on-site wrap for our exterior, dress the booth, and get everything prepped for the big day!

Here's a quick tip inspired by Michael's comment:
Double-Check Your Electronic Brake System:
Since the brakes on your truck and trailer work together through an electronic system, it's crucial to ensure all components and connections are in top condition. The best way to do this is to have your mechanic inspect the entire system while the truck and trailer are still connected.
Additional Pre-Trip Essentials:
Spare Tire: Make sure your spare tire is inflated and readily accessible.
Fuel: Pack a 5-gallon gas can with a funnel – just in case.
Fuses: Carry a few assorted car fuses for potential roadside repairs.
Jacks: Having a couple of reliable jacks with a 4,000-pound capacity will give you peace of mind.

Complete Operator's Rulebook

If during recording audiobooks, you hear of any animal cruelty content:

- stay calm

- finish the session

- collect payment

- make an excuse for not delivering the files like they need to get

groomed or neutered or something. (chances are they’ll believe you)

- call management, therapist, lawyer

- you may now scream WTF!

🛣️ Atlanta Bound! 🎹
Taking our studio on a 2100 mile trip for an exciting music event in Atlanta on June 1st!
That’s right! I talked the talk, and now I am going to walk the walk! All of my preachings in “Preparation and Checklist” blogs come to play now. https://mobilestudiousa.com/preparation-and-checklist/

As often as we have conducted long distance sessions, this is the first time documenting one and wish us luck!

Before we start, be ready for changes and cancellation! Always have contingency plans for everything and cancellation policies in place when negotiating.

First areas of concern are personnel and actual logistics of the road trip.
I have decided to hire a local engineer since the client wants to do some post production and re-mix in the days following the event.
I have also decided to hire an experienced and trusted road guru to accompany us for the duration. With tornados pounding the south and southeast region of the U.S. for the past two weeks, and uncertain road conditions, better be safe.

With 15 days until the departure date from California to Georgia with stopovers in New Mexico and Arkansa, I have decided to stay at the KOA campgrounds for the overnights. The advantages were: ease of vehicle transport as opposed to parking structures, access to facilities and most importantly, our proximity to our equipment packed truck and trailer for safety reasons. And having to shack up 4 bodies, it’s easier on the budget!

We are planning to depart on May 25 from Canyon Country to arrive in Atlanta on May 28. We are allowing an extra travel day since we are expecting road closures and detours due to the storms.
The rest of our schedule goes as follows:
May 29-30, trailer wrap and signage
May 31, setup and rehearsal
June 1st, The Event
June 2-4, travel

Also commonly called the voice box, is a hollow, tube-shaped structure. It contains vocal cords, which are two bands of muscle that vibrate when air passes through them.

Your vocal muscles need water more than anything else. While peppermint tea, honey .. are helpful, water is the most available and economic lubricant for your throat. Staying hydrated goes a long way in maintaining your vocal cords.

We've had the privilege of working with her a few times in our mobile studio, and each time she impressed us with her down-to-earth attitude and her beautiful smile. Her positive energy created a calm and collaborative environment for everyone on set, which is crucial for a smooth production.

Audio gets no respect.
Increasingly, newscasts dazzle visually but falter audibly, from acoustics to mic placement. A fundamental oversight! Even my grandmother knows lavaliers belong on inside lapels. Surprisingly, often only one talent is properly mic'd. Apologies to the nightline audio team for the spotlight, but it's a basic principle.

Amir's note: As if it doesn't come through in this picture, I must say that Mr. Dev Patel is one nice person/celebrity. His warm personality made it a joyful session for all 3 of us (!) while recording voiceovers for the National Geographic documentary "India From Above". Considering we had executives and directors monitoring and directing the session from 5 cities in 3 continents via Zoom, the session was a breeze as Mr. Patel indicates!
