Who are we and why should you listen?
The self-proclaimed “golf nerds” met in 2018 while working together at Longview and Cherry Blossom Golf Clubs in central Kentucky. Doc, the pro shop staff member, and Zip, the head pro. The two hit it off sharing their passion for golf and endless piles of golf knowledge and historical stats. Dr. Greg Goins (Doc) is a college professor and has a vast education background as a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. Doc was a single digit handicapper at one time, and is looking to play more golf after a couple years of minor injuries and lack of time. Seth Zipay (Zip) has been in the golf business for 18 years and has been a golf professional for 10 years. Zip is no longer in Kentucky as he and his wife have moved back towards their hometown in Youngstown, Ohio. He is now the head golf professional and lead club fitter at Golf Headquarters , where he worked formally, from 2001 - 2011. Both have a tremendous background in coaching. Doc coached girls varsity golf at a high school in his home state of Illinois, and Zip has coached PGA JR League teams and boys varsity high school during his career.
