I'm 60 years old and just now learned this...
How often do we evaluate ourselves on the basis of our feelings rather than on what God says?
The problem is our feelings are changing from one moment to the next & we never know what circumstances will arise to test our faith.
Maybe today is "one of those days" - the car didn't start, the boss has been breathing down your neck, the mortgage payment is due, & money is short.
During these times, it can be hard to stay level headed.
Satan will do whatever he can to divert our attention away from God & toward our problems.
As believers, we're empowered by the Holy Spirit who enables us to overcome Satan's manipulative tactics.
When life seems unbearable, remember the Lord paid a price to purchase you.
"For do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price." (1Cor 6:19-20).
Wake up each day with the knowledge that you are valuable to your Father.
Trust in His Word, not your feelings.
Have a blessed day. Love you.
Last February, on up until May, everyone within our community caught the sob story about WJLX, the local radio station which had been "robbed during the night" of it's 200 foot tall broadcasting tower and all of the equipment in the building. Most, not knowing any better, fell for the sad story and so badly wanted to help poor, suffering Brett Elmore, the stations self-proclaimed owner (who really is NOT the owner and only falsely claims that title), that they dug deeply into their pockets and, without question, added donations totaling $23,643.00 into the GoFundMe account he created to benefit himself. In return, Elmore promised that every cent received into the account would be used in rebuilding WJLX which he kept (falsely) bragging was "Jaspers' only local voice." (Jasper actually has TWO other actual local radio voices in WIXI-AM 1360 and WQJJ-FM 101.9.)
During February, Match, April and May (while the story of the "theft" of the tower and equipment was still viral material and widely shared, we all were treated to a series of "updates" on how wonderfully well construction was going on the new WJLX tower and transmitter site. Then, just after May, they story "wore out" and the gloriously happy and upbeat "updates" petered-out and no one has heard anything since...
So, having seen the wonderful news in April bragging of how a new tower had already been procured and would be detected during May, we decided to do what we could do in order to keep the people of our community updated on the glorious rebuilding of WJLX and began doing a bi-weekly check of the WJLX tower and transmitter site using our fleet of SkyFox drones. After all, the kind, loving and hard working people of our community have invested $23,643.00 of their hard-earned money into the project and deserve to see what they've paid for, right? After all, GoFundMe says the $23,643.00 was pulled out by Brett Elmore months ago and, one would assume, has financed a substantial bit of reconstruction at the

God always has our best interest in mind.
He didn't create us to be robots that blindly and lifelessly live their godly life, but grants us the choice to obey Him (or not).
Each day we face choices as both large and small temptations lure us.
We can live according to God's Will, following His lead and listening for His Voice, or refuse to.
God wants us to obey His commands—all of them—not just the ones we like, understand, or that make us comfortable.
Choosing to live God's way leads to fullness of life.
"Live as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy, in all your conduct, because it is written, 'Be holy, for I am holy.'" (1 Peter 1:14-16).
Have a blessed day. Love you.

Catastrophic storm surge and extreme wind are moving ashore, which will cause massive damage. Helene will race through Georgia overnight, bringing very high winds all the way across the state and causing widespread power outages. Heavy rainfall will bring severe flooding to the southern Appalachians.
For us, expect gusty winds into tropical storm force across the eastern counties of the state tonight into tomorrow, especially the southeasternmost counties where hurricane force gusts can't entirety be ruled out. Heavy rainfall tonight into early Friday should be mostly limited to east of I-65 and the Tennessee valley; some localized flooding is possible.
Jasper, Alabama and Brett Elmore's WJLX Tower Scam
Radio Station Manager Reports Tower Theft; Fraud Allegations Surface
On February 2, 2024, Brett Elmore, general manager of WJLX radio in Jasper, Alabama, reported the theft of a 200-foot radio station tower located near the Mar-Jac chicken processing plant. Elmore, who had allegedly misrepresented himself as the owner of WJLX for years, filed a police report regarding the tower's disappearance.
However, many have raised doubts about the legitimacy of Elmore’s claims. Critics argue that it would be nearly impossible to dismantle and transport such a large structure through residential and industrial areas without drawing attention. Despite these concerns, Elmore proceeded with the police report, leading to widespread accusations within the broadcast industry that the theft report was fraudulent.
Sources familiar with the situation claim that Elmore has a close relationship with local police, suggesting that no thorough investigation into the alleged theft would take place. It is also alleged that the tower had already been missing for months, and that Elmore fabricated the theft to cover up the fact that WJLX had been off the air illegally for somewhere around five years.
Elmore's handling of WJLX has been a point of controversy for some time. WJLX, an AM station on 1230 kHz, was often confused with W268BM, an FM translator on 101.5 MHz, which was licensed to rebroadcast WJLX's signal. Critics claim that Elmore operated the FM translator illegally, branding it as "WJLX Oldies 101.5 FM" and running it as a "pirate" radio station without proper authorization after illegally shutting down the real WJLX on AM 1230 as long ago as 2017.
Following the alleged tower theft, Elmore launched a GoFundMe campaign, seeking $60,000 to "rebuild WJLX." The story surrounding the theft garnered widespread attention online, and as of eight months later, Elmore had raised $23,643 from the campaign. Instead of rebuilding WJLX, however, Elmore reportedly used the funds to establish
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." (John 10:27).
Each morning, as the new dawn of the day begins, we are reminded to praise God for all He has done in our lives & continues to do.
Throughout our day He speaks to us through sights & sounds, our thoughts, & in Scriptures.
Even as we hear the sounds of birds calling to one another, we are reminded of the great love God has for all His creation.
As you set out to find God in each day, you discover that He communicates to you in a variety of ways & as you stay attentive to the messages He sends your way, you will discover the world is vibrantly alive with His Presence.
Even in faces filled with sorrow & grief, you can see Him take the deepest sadness & weave it into a pattern for good.
As you go through your day, continually search for God & His messages & you will find Him always near.
Have a blessed day. Love you.
Lingering rain from Francine north, mostly sunny south 🌧️
Friday the 13th could be a wet one across north and central Alabama as the remnants of Francine spin off to our northwest. Periods of showers and a few storms are possible with cloudy skies and low 80s. Flash flooding remains possible wherever the heavier rains fall, so keep an eye on conditions and have a way to get warnings. Needless to say don't drive into floodwater. Down south, it'll actually be a pretty nice day with upper 80s and mostly sunny skies. Beach conditions should gradually improve. Tomorrow more of the same, with scattered showers and few storms north, some perhaps dropping heavy rainfall. Rain chances remain high through the weekend for north and central Alabama with highs in the low to mid 80s and a chance of localized flooding. Rain chances increase across south Alabama by Sunday into early next week, but we look to clear by midweek and start warming up again.
Francine is no longer a tropical cyclone. Another system in the eastern Atlantic is struggling and of no threat to land. A system could form off the Carolinas early next week and pose a threat to the East Coast, while in the Pacific, Cabo San Lucas is preparing for heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Ileana.

Jesus came to bear the burdens that plague our lives. He will help us carry our burdens to the cross and deal with them there, once and for all.
He always has our best interest in mind. He alone knows that pain paves the path to complete spiritual healing and restoration.
If you are willing to allow God to surface the inner rubbish of your life, and if you are willing to change what needs to be changed, you will emerge from adversity closer to Christ, more mature as His child, and with far greater potential to reflect the love of God to the world around you.
Have a blessed day. Love you.
"For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." (Rom 15:4).
Everything we need to know in regards to salvation, living a godly life, and maintaining our faith in the midst of trials can be found in God's Word.
The men and women of Scripture were just like you and me, and their experiences were documented for our encouragement and instruction.
So whenever we face adversity, we should go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to teach us through His Word.
The Bible is an immovable anchor in times of storms, and through it He can give us strength and hope to endure.
Have a blessed day. Love you.
