Today, November 2nd, is a time to commemorate remembrance and honor the souls of our loved ones who have passed away. It's a day to pause, reflect, and offer prayers for their eternal peace.

This day reminds us of the preciousness of life, its inevitable end, and its fleeting nature. Amidst this somber reflection, we find solace in the belief that life is not truly over. We carry the love and memories of our departed loved ones in our hearts, finding comfort in the hope of eternal life beyond this one.

As we light candles in their memory, let us visit their resting places, sharing our love and remembering the moments that bound us together. May these acts of remembrance bring us peace and a sense of connection that transcends the boundaries of life and death.

𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧: 𝐒𝐒𝐔-𝐏𝐂 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐡

The game got rolled by both teams racing to outstrode one another in the first set. CAS tried to suppress and shut down their opponent's confidence. In contrast, Paranas Campus soared up and choked off CAS's gut with a score of 25-21.

The uproar of cheers and sweat of the players was palpable, as the scoreboard flipped.

In the second set (final), the ball was still in the hands of Paranas Campus with their quick and nimble movements. In spite of this, CAS was still in their position with their relentless effort and energy put forth.

Bottom line, Paranas Campus outmatched CAS, 25-13, stood atop and seized the championship.

𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗻: 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

The SSU gymnasium was a battleground of fast breaks, triple threats, and man-to-man defense. SSU-Paranas Campus (PC) and the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) faced off in a point-for-point battle earlier today. Dribbles off for every rebound, assist, and basket vying for the coveted title.

SSU-PC was set in motion with a strong performance, establishing an early lead against CIT. However, CIT burst forth as they took the lead and expanded it to 42-28 in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, SSU-PC was bolstered and determined to hit the ground running. They wielded the favor with them. But CIT was unstill and released a pent-up speed and skill leaving SSU-PC with a 70-52 score.

The fourth quarter was a race between the chaser and the chased as the CIT became out of reach from the Paranas Campus. The match continued to fluid with a series of high-octane movements, where every pass, grab, and point matters.

It was a nail-biting battle between champions. Nevertheless, the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) took the title from the defending champions with a 37-point gap, 103-66.

𝗜𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘁: 𝗦𝗦𝗨-𝗣𝗖 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗜𝗧'𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗵𝗶𝘁

The volleyball court was a whirlwind of controlled passes and powerful hits, with players soaring for spikes, diving for digs, and blocking with defensive moves.

The SSU-Paranas Campus (PC) and College of Industrial Technology (CIT) teams battled out on the net in a twice-to-beat championship showcasing their determination and teamwork.

In two consecutive games, CIT tossed SSU-PC, making it on record 2-0. In the second championship game, SSU-Paranas Campus (PC) served well as they pushed through to stay in the court game.

Both teams displayed precision and focus as they aimed for the top. Spikes soared, blocks rose high, and digs rallied alive as both teams fought for every point despite the darkness brought by the time.

The game continued up to the gymnasium for a good sight of everyone who anticipatedly into the game. Truly, it was CIT's home court as they left the SSU-PC stunned with their imposing attacks and unstoppable blocks. Their serves aced and their rotations were flawless, leaving the SSU-PC team hopeless with the final result: 3-2.

𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧: 𝐒𝐒𝐔 𝐏𝐂 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐁𝐮𝐳𝐳𝐞𝐫-𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐬

The air crackles with anticipation on the 30th of October 2024 as the four-wall court of SSU sets for a thrilling Basketball Championship, with the defensive teams in the league vying for victory.

SSU-PC dribbles off against SSU-Mercedes for the final showdown.

In the first quarter, Mercedes took an early lead with their pick-and-roll strategy. However, in the second quarter, SSU PC bounced back strongly, with Jouana Lagbo scoring several points. By the third quarter, SSU-PC regained the lead with their fast-break scheme against a tough defense. In the fourth quarter, SSU-PC was still on the basket as they led 53-47, but then everyone got amped as SSU-PC and Mercedes tied the game at 53-53 in the last 1 minute and 30 seconds.

In the long run, SSU PC secured the victory with two impressive three-point shots from Abamo, ending the game at 66-60.

Basketball Update: SSU PC Soars to Triumph!

On October 28, 2024, in the men's clash between SSU-PC and COENG, both teams battled fiercely, with SSU-PC ultimately emerging victorious through skill and determination. The court was alive with crossovers, layups, and rebounds, as both teams fought for every possession.

Meanwhile, the women's dribbles against Mercedes were equally intense, with Mercedes powering through to secure a well-deserved win. The crowd roared with excitement as Mercedes unleashed a series of points, leaving their opponents in their wake.

The energy of the crowd and players was strong and loud, ended up with a joyous victory.

Volleyball Update: Blocks and Spikes!

The SSU Main volleyball courts were alive with excitement on the cheerful afternoon of October 28th, 2024, as the SSU-PC men's and women's teams delivered impressive back-to-back victories!

In men’s volleyball, SSU-PC kicked off the day against Mercedes, showcasing remarkable teamwork and resilience for a strong win. They followed up with another victory against CoEd in a hard-fought match that had the crowd roaring with support.

The SSU-PC women’s team kept the momentum going, starting with a determined win against Mercedes. They faced CAS next, bringing the same energy and securing yet another victory. With every spike, block, and dig, SSU-PC proved they were the team to beat, making for a thrilling day for both players and supporters.

Volleyball Men: CAS aced CoEd

On the final day of the Palaro 2024, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) faced off against the College of Education (CoEd) in an exhilarating volleyball match. Both teams showcased impressive skills with powerful hits and serves.

In the first set, CAS claimed victory over CoEd with a score of 25-20. Despite CoEd's efforts to rally in subsequent plays, they got strong defensive strategies from CAS. The match ended with CAS secured the match with a final set score of 15-13.

On October 18, 2024, Samar State University Paranas Campus (SSU-PC) rocked its annual Acquaintance & Victory Party at the campus grounds. The event featured the induction of new classroom and organizational officers, pumping up student leadership for the year.

Celebrations continued with a bang as winners from the recent Sundayag 2024 (Campus Days) were awarded and showered with accolades. The energy exploded with fun games like King and Queen of the Night, Prince and Princess, and a lively "Bring Me" game that made everyone scream with laughter.

The event brought the SSU-PC community together for a night of unity, fun, and recognition that was electrifying.

Candidates from various colleges, of main campus as well as representatives from the external campuses of Mercedes and Paranas, showcased an incredible array of talent and charisma that truly embodies the spirit of innovation and excellence our institution represents

𝐒𝐒𝐔 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐨 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐕𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞

SSU Palaro 2024 kicked off on October 21, with the theme "Heading Towards International Aptitude on Sports " starting four days of exciting events. The opening ceremony featured a parade from the SSU gymnasium, with delegates from the Main Campus, Basey, Mercedes, and Paranas. SSU Paranas was represented by 79 delegates.

After the parade, a flag-raising ceremony took place, followed by the opening program. The stage is now set for the competitions ahead, with everyone looking forward to a great event.
