Celebrating its 10th anniversary year, The Grierson Trust's 2022 Grierson DocLab training scheme is now open for applications.

Skills2Film is delighted to support this. The Grierson Trust new entrant training scheme, Grierson DocLab is back for its 10th year! It will support 12 successful trainees as they embark on the early stages of their careers in factual TV and documentary.

The scheme seeks UK-based new entrants aged 18-25 with a passion for docs to apply for this prestigious programme, and includes intensive training, a work placement at a production company, a full industry delegate pass to Sheffield Doc/Fest, an industry mentor, plus supported continuing professional development.

The Grierson Trust has an established track record of supporting under-represented groups in the factual TV industry and therefore particularly encourage applications to all schemes from: those from lower socio-economic backgrounds; disabled people; those from ethnic minority backgrounds; people from the LGBTQ+ community and more.

Deadline for applications is Friday, 11 February at 5pm.

Someone wants to take a photo of you. Suddenly you don’t know what to do with your hands, you make a silly face, or put your hands in front of your face to block the shot.

We get it - we’ve all been there!

It’s the same with video. Some of us just feel uncomfortable when we are put in front of a rolling camera.
