As an artist, all you can really control is what you create and when you create. The rest is all part of the mad beauty of pursuing a life of art and music.
Sometimes, it will feel hard to create.
We’re all struggling with different challenges in life and it can be really hard to tap into creativity and Source when you’re healing, blocked, or simply burnt out. It’s okay to feel those things too. Creativity is not a sprint.
You can always tap back in when you’re ready.

Excited to share my first remix of 2023 will be for @yottomusic and @bookashade’s epic collab track, “Encounters” 👽🪷
Both artists were an integral part of my beginnings as SOHMI, giving me platforms to release and share my voice and sound with the world - first through my ‘Closer’ EP on Yotto’s label @oddoneoutlabel and then through my collaboration with Booka Shade on our track, “Small Talk” (both released in 2021). So it feels like a beautiful marker of my growth as an artist and musician to be asked by these two legends to do a remix for them, and with a special twist: adding my vocals to the instrumental original.
Growth as a concept is also an apt theme for another reason, as it happens to be the name of Yotto’s album from which this track was first released.
Can’t wait for this one to be out!

I’ve been playing Dosem’s music in almost all of my sets since I began DJing. Truly there are few people in the game who’s tracks hit with such consistent groove and depth and work so well in any setting, and I’m beyond excited to have this dark and driving club-focused interpretation of “Only One” from the maestro himself!
It’s been such a highlight and moment in all of my sets these last few months and soon will be available to all of you too :)

First of two massive summer remixes coming from my ‘Recital’ EP is a terrace-inspired club take on “Somebody” by @dannyhowarddj 🦋
Danny was one of my earliest supporters, putting my music on the map in 2020 by featuring my second-ever release on his radio show on @bbcradio1. And he has supported so many of my releases since.
I’ve been waiting for the right moment to collaborate with him musically - and given its message, nothing felt more appropriate than having him remix a song like “Somebody”.
