Espresso Martini

INSTRUCTIONS
Prepare 1 ounce espresso and let cool to room temperature or in the refrigerator.

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add 1 1/2 ounces vodka, 1 ounce coffee liqueur, 1 ounce espresso or cold brew, and 1/2 ounce simple syrup. Cover the shaker, pressing to seal, and shake vigorously until the metal shaker is very cold to the touch, about 20 seconds. Pour through a strainer, into a martini glass and garnish.

Different garnish options:
Decoratively place 1 or 3 coffee beans directly on top.
Finely grate coffee beans with a microplane over the top.

Pour finely ground coffee or instant espresso into a fine mesh strainer and dust over the top. You can use this method with a piece of paper over half the cocktail to dust one half only for a more dramatic presentation.
