A little sneak peak into our approach to recording baby grands! 🎹✨👀

🎙️ We got 3 spot mics up close and this is usually accompanied by 2 or sometimes 4 room mics. Just depends on the project.
•
🎤 The spot mics capture fundamental notes and mallet strikes to give us the full dynamic range of the performance.
•
🎙️The room mics will give us ambience, a sense of space and natural reverb to make this sound like you’re in the room with the performer! Those natural reflections are where the moneys at!
•
🎤In the control room we’ll balance all of these tracks to taste and keep a close eye on any possible phasing issues ✨
