That time I was sobbing alone in the back of a taxi in Italy. #tbt
Picture this: Florence. Summer. 2023. Iāve hailed a cab to take me back to my hotel after wine tasting in Tuscany or a farmhouse cooking class or something of the like.
We are zooming through the streets of Florence. Well as much as you can zoom anywhere in Florence. Anyone who has been knows the streets are exceptionally narrow but that doesnāt stop the cab drivers from zipping along.
That is until youāve got people walking the streets and then itās the inch along and squeeze game.
Iām in the back of a cab, by my lonesome, trying to take in the sites as they are whirring by. Windows open, summer air offering s nice breeze. Then, all of a sudden, we come to halt. We are moving at a glacial pace to the point that it jolts me out of my own thoughts and back to the moment.
We are inching by a piazza. In the middle of the piazza, under the lights, is a woman, solo, violin in hand. We are creeping along because, on this hot summer night, no less than a couple hundred locals surround this piazza, standing. Simply taking in the violin music into the late hours of the night. Some are focused on their phones, listening in the background. Some are paying close attention. Couples are hugged up on each other taking in the music. Others slow as they are walking by for a moment to take in just some of the performance.
It was literally the most stereotypical and quintessentially Italian thingāin my years of imaginings of Italyā that I have ever seen in my life. And I was witnessing it live. And in person. It was absolutely magical.
Cue the waterworks.
It was at that moment that it actually sunk in that I was actually there. That I finally made it to Italy. 10 long years after I had originally planned this trip. I made it.
When I say I was truly snotting and sobbing in the back of that cab but trying to mask it so the cab driver wouldnāt freak out. Because the langua
Blessings on blessings on me.
Iām a little emotional even as I write this. Iāve been blessed to visit, already this year, 10 countries Iāve never visited before. Itās humbling to really process. Even if I go nowhere else this year, my heart is full. Like full, full. Even when itās frustrating and tough, I realize Iām living my and my ancestors wildest dreams. Hashtag blessed.
Flourish.

Just call me the Pizza Master. Have you ever tried a pizza making class? I did a pizza and gelato making class in Florence and it was delicious.
Donāt mind me, Iām just marveling at Godās splendor while eating Swiss chocolate on the UNESCO little red Swiss train going through the Swiss Alps. #Flourish. #travelingesquire #swissalps #nature #eurotrip2023

One of the most naturally breathtaking places Iāve ever been. I canāt believe this was 3 years ago today. Grateful my phone reminded me of this moment. And grateful that Iām starting to get out traveling again.
Do you guys understand how amazing of a #foodie city that Seattle is? ZOMG! I went on a foodie walk this morning that was mind blowing, let some amazing contacts for the upcoming culinary trip and then doubled back to get the seafood bisque from Pike Place Chowder. I am in heaven!!!
This was so cool! My strawberry graham ice cream was made in front of my eyes out of fresh strawberry and graham and cream. European style and delish.
Tyra Tries Escargot...
#FoodieFriday While I love culinary experiences, I draw the line at certain things. While in New York, I let my buddy Reuben Reynoso (who shot this video) talk me into eating escargot. Yeah, snails. Take a look to see my reaction. Do you like escargot? Do you think I liked it?

The best word to describe the people of Berlin: quirky
I find the people of Germany...or maybe just Berlin...to be very quirky. I'm not sure what it is but they just seem to be cut from a different cloth. Maybe it's the juxtaposition and contradictions I am picking up on. Germany is such an authoritarian, follow-the-rules type of country but the people in Berlin seem to abide by no rules. They are just themselves. Quirky and odd and different and thoroughly nonchalant about it. I don't quite know what to make of it, but I will say I love the diversity of the city. Not as much the people, but the influences of different cultures that can be seen, especially in the food.
Again, I'm not sure what it is, but I think I like it.
Sidenote: I wholistically approve of the message on the mural behind this gent. She is Black, and she is awesome.
The North Sea Jazz Festival is giving me life y'all! The Roots killed it. Here's a sample of my fave Roots song. Tonight I took in The Roots, Maxwell, Emeli Sande, and Bilal. Feeling super fortunate (see what I did there, because Maxwell) at this moment. This comes immediately after 29 hours of travel from LA to Philly to Prague to Amsterdam to Rotterdam.
Two years ago, I was sad I wasn't able to make it to the festival when I was in Europe and was thinking "when am I going to have a chance to go to this festival again???" Two years later, I'm here. Above all else, I am trying to create the life I want while helping others do the same. How do you want to incorporate travel into your life/lifestyle?
