Icelandic horses are more than just beautiful animals; they hold a special place in Icelandic culture and history. Here are some things that make them so special -
🌍 Purebred Lineage – They’ve been isolated in Iceland for over 1,000 years, making them one of the purest horse breeds in the world.
💪 Resilient – Adapted to Iceland’s harsh climate, they’re strong and remarkably adaptable.
🐴 Unique Movements – They’re famous for five distinct ways of moving, or “gaits.” Unlike most horses, Icelandic horses have a smooth, flowing gait called the tölt, which allows riders to stay comfortable, even on rough terrain.
✨ Majestic Looks – With thick manes and strong frames, they’re stunning to see against Iceland’s rugged landscapes.

✨ Our Lady of the Forsaken Festival (Festividad de la Virgen de los Desamparados) in Valencia ✨
On the second weekend of May (Friday through Monday), the patron saint of Valencia is celebrated. Thousands of Valencians gather to attend mass and watch the patron saint as she’s carried through the Old Town (Ciutat Vella). It can be intense, emotional, and passionate for the people of Valencia.
Sunday evening ends with a procession as thousands of flowers are thrown from balconies which feels (and smells) like pure magic. ✨🥺
