Centrists are hard to define, but in general:

- They think partisan gridlock is the worst, and bipartisanship is the best

- They generally think "markets" can handle things better than "the government"

- They are generally for private enterprise taking over public goods

Tendencies of The Centrist:

- Focusing on the "rough and tumble" and "horse race" of politics

- Focusing on personalit

ies instead of issues

- Treating businesspeople and the rich in general as having wise / neutral public policy ideas

- Denying they themselves have an ideology

All of which obscures the actual stakes and consequences of public policy, and shapes policy in negative ways
