I had to take a break from social media yesterday because I hate seeing all these posts, and I hate making them even more. I didn’t even do this when my dad or step dad passed, because I just prefer to keep family stuff like that personal & private. But Bigg Eddie Bauer and I had a personal and public relationship. I also will address this topic on my radio show this Friday.
Personally, he was the male best friend to my daughter’s mom’s best friend (who is also my daughter’s Godmother). She grew up with Eddie in the Cincy area, so we had that connection from many years ago. Professionally, I was assigned to train Eddie on how to run a mixing board when he 1st stepped into radio at Z1079 Cleveland. He was a fast learner who quickly moved up the ranks, and went on to accomplish MUCH bigger things in the radio industry than I ever did, which always made me proud.
He went on the become a powerhouse in the industry, holding down full time slots in Cle, Cincy (where he reached Program Director status!) and Toledo. We always stayed in touch, and he was always there to support my movement with the Ohio hip Hop Awards & Music Conference as a panelist, talent showcase judge, co promoter, etc…he even hosted the supergroup HNT underground classic “Real Talk” mixtape/album I was a part of with Matt Penttila Jason Fullilove Mike Vasquez Mick Batyske Dustin Davis Blitz Bazawule and a few others.
Eddie - you made it a point to put on for the underground, the overlooked, and the underdogs. You gave a platform for OTHERS to shine while screaming which spoke to the purity of your purpose and your heart. Never had one real argument with you. Always kept it a buck. I pray for your family and loved ones and promise to keep your memory alive 🙏🏾💔🕊️
