The third remix album from , 'between time remixes' concentrates on just four tracks from the original 'between time' album, first released in April 2022. The second single from Honest Lee's ( ) forthcoming album is out today.
Hammered Home features psychedelic trumpet work from DC stalwart Joe Herrera ( ) over top of steady, funky drums with tinkling piano solos from Honest Lee. The track is set up with soulful chord changes from the Rhodes piano and a recurring horn melody from Herrera, joined on tenor sax by Matt Rippetoe ( ), creating a stark mood. As the drums kick in and the acoustic piano starts filling in the space between the horn melody you know you're in for something special. As soon as you've gotten complacent, the groove changes completely to a building afrobeat mood serving as the jump off for Herrera's effect-laden trumpet solo.
Hammered Home serves as a funky flagship track of the album to come, full of unexpected moods and vivid colors.
Cosmic Justice will be available everywhere March 8..

Honest Lee's first new original music since August 2020 is available everywhere now.
'Semantics' ft Troy Long is anchored by Honest Lee's hard drums and puts keys from Baltimorian Troy Long front and center for a jazz funk workout. Troy and Lee met on the pandemic project of DJ Fleg's East Coast Affair live show, hit it off, and Troy's leads and solos are the star of this track.
The bed of Semantics features upright bass, harkening to early-90s hip hop when the instrument was used prominently, but jumps into Lonnie Liston Smith territory when the CP88 riff is introduced and drums and tambourine bounce off staccato electric guitar stabs. The sum of all these interlocking parts creates a new sound in instrumental soul, with one ear in the past and one in the future.
Keep your eyes open, for this is just the beginning of unveiling Honest Lee's upcoming sophomore solo album entitled "Cosmic Justice" which will be available for pre-order in December...
