Year 2 of Camp Brainy Ridge for NF camp

Year 11 as a counselor

Year 14 of going to camp

17 years of being a family

As someone who doesn’t post much unless it’s a meme I find funny or posting an honor score in bowling along with promoting bowling apparel, the only other time I take time to post is when it comes to Brainy Ridge Camps.

If you wanted to talk about a summer camp that is for kids, teenagers, young adults and adults all with cronic health conditions Camp Brainy Ridge does it right.

Since 2009 I have been coming to this camp and being part of the NF camp and for people who don’t know I live with a neurological condition called Neurofibromatosis type 1 usually you are diagnosed after you are born but in my case I wasn’t till 2008 when I was 14 years old when I started to have problems in my left eye that lead to finding out I had a brain tumor which was all caused by NF

When I went to camp in 2009 I fell in love with camp right away and couldn’t wait till the following year and the years to come.

Fast forward to 2013 I became a counselor for the first time and have been ever since trying to be a role model for the campers by showing that you can do anything if you put your mind to it.

In this photo right here yes they are my friends but most importantly they are my family we have seen each other achievements and milestones help each other with our ups and downs but most of all we have seen each other grow up there may be times we don’t talk for awhile but when we reunite we pick up like we just talked yesterday and that is what family does.

Some of us took a small break from camp for awhile because that’s life but we always knew camp would be here for us.

We made sure this week all the campers had fun weather it was fishing, arts & crafts, cannoing, cap flag and even bowling no matter what we made sure the campers were laughing, and smiling even when a few curve balls we’re thrown at us we made sure the campers were having fun.

that goes by the camp saying thats been here for 31 years and something that if you have attended camp here you go by and that is
