Both of the cities possess a similar self driven energy and rich emerging
creative communities, yet often lack means of connection. Mapped enforces the creative exchange between the two communities by providing accessibility through the content in each
printed issue. Each issue consists of several selected band interviews and large full color images of visual artist’s art work. Mapped is all abo
ut getting the word out there about emerging art and sound which will soon be taking up pages in larger publications, while setting a positive example and motivating others to follow their own goals through a supportive peer to peer attitude. By means of collaboration, we look to inspire deserving individuals to share their work with a larger audience and present new opportunities for growth and recognition. Striving to preserve the spirit of starting something, Mapped is here to set an example. Mapped serves as a platform for emerging artists, designers and musicians to
showcase their talents through a physical presence of print in their communty. Mapped is real - it doesn’t portray the unattainable appeal of celebrities or unrelatable fashion models, it documents accomplishments by real inspirational and trensetting personalities who work hard to get noticed in their communities. It allows wider coverage and provokes acknowledgement of their inspirational ideas. Mapped reinforces independent culture and takes on the ideals of the do it yourself mind set. We support hardworking individuals and allow for them to be noticed in a way other than social media and blog culture, reviving the importance and aesthetic qualities of print in order to bring the community together.
