La République démocratique du Congo (RDC) vient de franchir une étape majeure en rejoignant officiellement le Conseil des pays producteurs d’huile de palme (CPOPC). Une décision stratégique, saluée par Plantations et Huileries du Congo (PHC).

Selon une étude du CPOPC, avec la relance du secteur de l’huile de palme en RDC, le pays pourrait atteindre une production annuelle de 1,5 million de tonnes et créer près de 250 000 emplois directs. En outre, la contribution de l’industrie de l’huile de palme au PIB national pourrait augmenter de 2,52 milliards de dollars.

Palm Oil: DR Congo joins the Council of palm oil producing countries, PHC welcomes a decisive turning point

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has taken a significant step by officially joining the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC). This strategic decision, praised by Plantations and Mills of Congo (PHC), marks a renewal for a once-thriving sector now seeking revitalization and modernization.

According to a CPOPC study, with the revival of the palm oil sector in the DRC, the country could reach an annual production of 1.5 million tons and create nearly 250,000 direct jobs. Additionally, the contribution of the palm oil industry to the national GDP could increase by 2.52 billion dollars.

Brigitte Nsensele, the new President of the Council of State of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, was officially sworn in on February 12, 2025, after being appointed on January 16, 2025.

Arielle Raoumbe takes the helm of the infrastructure division at Africa Global Logistics Gabon (AGL). Her mission: to oversee strategic projects, including the enhancement of AGL Gabon’s future headquarters, the modernization of the current building, and the expansion of the group’s port and logistics infrastructure.

Togolese filmmaker Angela Aquereburu Rabatel has been appointed Director General of the Benin Radio and Television Corporation (SRTB), the country’s public media body. She will also lead the national channel “Bénin TV,” further consolidating her key role in the country’s audiovisual landscape.

Lillian Mwai Ndegwa has been appointed Country Director for Kenya at Trademark Africa, an organization dedicated to facilitating trade in Africa through funding from international development agencies.

Lelly Usiku has been appointed interim CEO of Namib Desert Diamonds (Namdia), a Namibian state-owned company specializing in the sale and marketing of diamonds. Formerly the Marketing and Sales Director at NAMDIA, she previously held this position in 2022, reaffirming her expertise and legitimacy in this strategic role.

Beatriz da Consolação Mateus Buchili has been appointed Advisor on Legal and Constitutional Affairs to Mozambique’s newly elected president, Daniel Chapo. Before this appointment, she had served as the country’s Attorney General since 2014, becoming the first woman to hold this position in Mozambique. In this role, she oversaw several high-profile corruption cases involving senior political figures in the country.

The young Congolese Chef Michée Kalengay Kabuima, 27 years old, joins the "Catering" service of Qatar Airways

Born in Kinshasa, the vibrant capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Michée Kalengay joins the prestigious teams of Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) and Qatar Duty Free (QDF) in Doha, Qatar, according to a press release from the airline Qatar Airways. QACC produces no less than 200,000 meals each day for about 300 flights. Michée Kalengay has set himself the mission of introducing the world to the famous dishes of his homeland, such as the "Liboké."

RDC : Plantations et Huileries du Congo a inauguré deux nouvelles écoles à Lokutu

Inaugurées les 30 et 31 décembre 2024 par la société Plantations et Huileries du Congo (PHC), ces deux écoles, situées dans la province de la Tshopo, en République démocratique du Congo, ouvrent la voie à des conditions d’apprentissage optimales pour 480 élèves.

À ce jour, PHC a déjà construit et équipé 28 écoles, et neuf autres sont en cours de construction. Plus de 7 000 enfants issus de milieux ruraux bénéficient désormais de ces nouvelles opportunités d’éducation, renforçant ainsi les bases d’un avenir plus prometteur pour les jeunes Congolais.

DRC: Plantations et Huileries du Congo has inaugurated two new schools in Lokutu

Inaugurated on December 30 and 31, 2024, by the company Plantations et Huileries du Congo (PHC), these two new schools, located in the Tshopo province of the Democratic Republic of Congo, pave the way for optimal learning conditions for 480 students.

To date, PHC has already built and equipped 28 schools, with nine more under construction. Over 7,000 children from rural backgrounds now benefit from these new educational opportunities, thus strengthening the foundations of a brighter future for young Congolese people.
