Saw this stud of a buck tonight. It's not a great pic but his left side he has forks off his rear forks. That's 6pt on his left. Not sure how many he had on his right. He is a beast!

The hunt is fun but the work doesn't end after the shot is made. Lots more work to be done. Skinning, hanging at camp. Getting it back home to hang and age. Then when it's time for processing you have to do it regardless if it's a work night or not. That means for our working family we have a late night cutting, grinding, and packaging. Then last we have to clean up the wall hanger. Worth every moment.

I missed out on going to Alaska for deer this year. My buddy was getting it done during the rut. His client s did well this season and made me wish I had made the trip. are unigue and delicious species. I have to remind myself I only have a limited amount of hunting seasons to enjoy. Go hunt.

Tough morning in the woods with all the snow. So Cold!! We were able to entice one bird. Always a good day when you are in the woods.

Someone asked me about the fires today. A year ago this week we as a family and community were confronted with something we weren't prepared for. .....and I try to be prepared for everything. An event that will forever change how I look at "home" and "community". We were fortunate to have good friends come to our aid and save our home. Some helping as their own homes were being threatened. The most amazing part of it all is how the community came together. We chose to live where we do because of the people in this community. That choice was confirmed as friends arrived in my yard with equipment and water tanks ready to take action. I am amazed and humbled by what happened last fall. I sincerely thank everyone involved.
