Pine Box Films is a new company that has recently been sponsored into entering the 48th Hour Film Competition which will mean that our first film, which is to say the first made under this production company's name, will be given the huge honour of being screened on the prestigious Prince Charles' Cinema. The vision, and goals, for our company are simple yet complex:
*We want to bridge the commer
cial and the arthouse sensibility together, much like old movies such as Citizen Kane and The Third Man did, and take cinema in a new direction by allowing it to be directly influenced by its roots.
*We want to be global and create more roles for women and ethnic minorities in order to provide more opportunities for those who find it harder to be accepted into an industry that is predominantly white and male.
*We want to tell great stories and change the face of cinematic art as well as challenge and entertain. Moving pictures are a powerful medium and we want to achieve its highest potential which we feel is barely being touched upon at the moment.
*We want to be the voice of a disenchanted generation and treat it fairly by reflecting it as honestly and creatively as possible.
*We want to amaze, discover and create as many fantastic and unthinkable things as possible.
*We want to be part of the people and they to be part of us. Our films will be for everyone, not just a select few. We want to portray life as it is, not a glorified version of it independently of Genre. And finally, Truth and Story-Telling Above All!
