(CDR), launched on April 6th 2013, was born from a desire to provide musicians the footing in the Oklahoma music community who are passionate, have the drive, desire and spirit to make it in the American and Global music industry. CDR is an innovative independent record label developed by Lee Maples, a United States Air Force retired Technical Sergeant, of 16 years of service, as well as a Disable
d American Veteran, and a Wounded Warrior Project Alumnus. For decades, entrepreneurs starting up small businesses have had access to incubators: services that help support new businesses in their fragile early stages. These ensure that small companies have a fighting chance to succeed against larger, more established corporations. For now, however, the same cannot be said for independent musicians. There is no service that focuses on actively overseeing the success of the independent arts, which leaves them at a considerable disadvantage against artists that sign on to major record labels. Goals
- Establish and grow The Company into a full service record label, merchandising and multimedia company
- Create a steady stream of revenue from record sales, digital sales, merchandising, licensing and live performances
Keys to Success
- Focus on creating a consistent stream of high quality songs and music related products
- Solve problems with independent marketing, promotional and advertising budgets
- Ensure products are delivered on time, financials are managed effectively, marketing and promotional budgets are monitored, and develop successful growth strategies
- Focus on internet presence and building the foundation for a recognizable web brand
