Greetings HMB members, alums, friends, & family,
It is with heaviest of hearts that we relay the news that our dear friend and humble co-host, John Brown, passed away unexpectedly last week. He was golfing with a friend, and wearing black and gold. We don't know what to say, we are just shocked and devastated to lose our friend and founding member. Our hearts go out to John's family, his wife Sara, his children Hayden & Emma, whom John spoke so lovingly of.
We have a tribute episode coming out soon with some warm stories John tells to remember him by. It's just good to hear his voice and his laugh. We will be re-releasing our interview with his HMB best friend, Jose Gallardo, as we wanted to pick every story from the interview. We will do our Homecoming episode as we had previously planned. Then we may take a break.
John will be remembered for his family, his work with his wife & children, his work in the HMB, with the HMB Alumni Band & Alumni Band Board, in Alumni Associations at Drake & St. Cloud State University, and everything else he was involved in. This podcast was his idea, and as John was fond of saying, it truly is a labor of love.
We raise a toast to you, John! Thank you for everything.
