That cocktail-swilling cinephiliac globetrotter is back from Germany, and we've released two big new episodes to celebrate. In our main episode, the Drew Barrymore Cinderella story EVER AFTER wages an unexpectedly tight battle against the 1948 Powell & Pressburger classic THE RED SHOES. Meanwhile, our new-movie roundup ep covers a heaping pile of much-anticipated new releases, including KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON, THE KILLER, PRISCILLA, THE ROYAL HOTEL, FAIR PLAY and A HAUNTING IN VENICE.

If you like the podcast, we encourage you to leave us a review and a rating on your chosen podcatcher. Even short reviews are a big help when it comes to boosting our profile within that merciless podcast algorithm!

It's Halloween month on the podcast, and only after recording this episode did we realize we should have retitled ourselves TRASH, ART, AND THE SPOOKIES. Oh well, maybe next year.

We've still got two fun and exceptionally well-matched movies to talk about, though. Our art pick is Brian De Palma's iconic 1976 Stephen King adaptation CARRIE, and our trash pick is Danny DeVito's beloved 1996 Roald Dahl adaptation MATILDA. That's right: it's two movies about telekinetic girls with terrible parents! But which one gets elected queen of the podcast, and which one do we grab by the pigtails and fling out of sight? Listen and find out!

Meanwhile, if you're looking for something to do with your hands while you listen to Erin and me hash things out, why not leave TAATM a rating and a review on your preferred podcast platform? Five stars would be a perfect Halloween treat!

On this week's grab-bag episode of TRASH, ART AND THE MOVIES, Erin and I revisit the all-time-great Talking Heads concert film STOP MAKING SENSE (this time in IMAX, as if it weren't an overwhelming enough experience already), and also make stops at DUMB MONEY, ANATOMY OF A FALL, MEG 2: THE TRENCH, and SANCTUARY--not to mention a bunch of Roald Dahl adaptations, two animated classics and a pair of assassination-themed Eurothrillers.

A Palme d'Or winner, a semi-slept-on Spielberg classic, and the pumpkin king of Halloweentown: there's something for everyone in this one! If you like what you hear, please consider rating and reviewing us on your podcatching platform of choice--or at least return in a few days to hear us pit Brian De Palma's CARRIE against Danny DeVito's MATILDA in a showdown between the two great cinematic telekinetics!

Hope you guys like graphic images of bloody noses! On this week's episode of TRASH, ART & THE MOVIES, Erin and I enter the ring with two films about underground violence leagues: David Fincher's zeitgeisty 1999 satire FIGHT CLUB, and Emma Seligman's anarchic new high-school comedy BOTTOMS.

As always, we remind you that you can help out the podcast in a big way by doing something comparatively small: leaving us a nice five-star review on your favoured podcasting platform. We're seeing some listener momentum ju-u-u-u-ust starting to build, and a few positive reviews would really help nudge us along.

On this week's podcast, Erin dives deep into her childhood moviegoing memory by revisiting the 1991 horse-girl classic WILD HEARTS CAN'T BE BROKEN. Oh sure, we review a bunch of new releases too, but aren't you curious to hear about a plucky farmgirl who becomes a star horse-diver, and keeps on horse-diving even after she goes blind? We sure hope so, because we devote a LOT of time to WILD HEARTS CAN'T BE BROKEN this week.

Oh sure, we also talk about the new Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster JAWAN, the affectionate mockumentary THEATER CAMP, Randall Park's indie dramedy SHORTCOMINGS, and the indie sci-fi dramas LANDSCAPE WITH INVISIBLE HAND and APORIA. And we also revisit the early Al Pacino drug-addict drama THE PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK, the Jerry Lewis extravaganza THE LADIES MAN and the anthology film O. HENRY'S FULL HOUSE. But we aren't gonna lie: WILD HEARTS CAN'T BE BROKEN is the centrepiece!

Don't hold that against us when you rate and review us on your podcasting platform. We seem to be gaining some traction in a few countries lately, and we're even scraping the bottom of the charts in the USA. We've gotten a couple of very lovely reviews lately, so we hope you can help us keep all this momentum going!

This week, Erin and I discuss two films involving what we're calling "countdowns to violence"... and we nearly come to blows while talking about one of them! Our art pick is the classic 1952 Gary Cooper Western HIGH NOON, starring Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly; and our trash pick is the cult 1987 high-school comedy THREE O'CLOCK HIGH, starring Casey Siemaszko. The showdown starts as soon as you press play!

Don't play favourites when you rate and review us, though! Give us both the full five stars, if you please!

Erin and I have thrown together an especially fun grab-bag episode for you this week, if we do say so ourselves. We've got four new comedies to review: the '90s-kid-pandering reboot TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: MUTANT MAYHEM, the talking-animal raunchfest STRAYS, the Nicolas Cage vampire spoof RENFIELD, and the Adam Sandler-produced coming-of-age comedy YOU ARE SO NOT INVITED TO MY BAT MITZVAH.

Then, Erin rhapsodizes over two of her favourite 1970s Amitabh Bachchan vehicles, DON and DEEWAAR, while Paul samples two films from the Criterion Channel's "Noir By Gaslight" collection, as well as the 1985 Hong Kong "hopping vampire" comedy MR. VAMPIRE and the provocative 1992 undercover-cop thriller DEEP COVER.

That's a combination of movies you just won't find anywhere else in the podcasting world! Why not reward us by giving us a five-star review and an enthusiastic write-up on your favourite podcasting platform? We'd hop with delight if you did!
