Did my first practice run for the NES Big20 marathon this weekend(Sept. 9th). Feels good to get one full practice run in. Hoping to work it down to around four hours. The big20 is a speedrunning event where speed runners run 20 NES games in a row, each game with their own specific goals. I’ll be streaming my practice and my full race run on my twitch channel.

Got a decent time in Speedrunning contra. A 10:17 places me at around number 35 on the list. I think I can still shave a few more seconds off before need to perfect everything even more. This may be close to my limit but some other runners think I may be able to get closer to the 10 minute mark. I guess we’ll see.

Beat Ninja Gaiden last night in under 14 minutes! Working to get what they call a “Ninja License”, which means sub 12:30. Now it’s time to really dive and and start grinding for time saves.

Working on the cave skip in Castlevania. It took a lot of practice but i'm starting to get it once in a while. Now to try getting it in a run.

Got back to some Operation C Low% runs and was able to take back the World Record with a time of 11:33! Not a perfect run, so still some time to save.

First coop run on the board! Tried some runs last night with archycoffee, I had some lag connecting through parsec to his game, but we managed to get a decent time for our first run.

This week I got a new personal best in three different games. Good week for me in speedrunning! Getting these times lowers is going to take some more practice and tightening up my current strategies.

After about 900 attempts, I finally completed a pacifist run in Contra. This is where you can’t kill anything except the bosses and impassible barriers. I was finally able to finish the run in a decent time to get the World Record in the category. As far as I know, only one other person was able to do this on video. I am the second.
