Continuous Voters Registration; Uhunmwode Council Boss Sues for Compliance

**Ehor, Edo State

The Executive Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Area, Hon Adodo Kenneth Osarobo has sued for compliance in the upcoming continuous voters registration in Edo State by INEC, scheduled to commence from 28th May to June 7th 2024.

The Council Chairman, while speaking at Ehor, called on Uhunmwode people and Edo State in general, who are of voting age, to take advantage of the opportunity to register for the voters card.

He emphasized the need for all eligible voters to register in the exercise to enable them to vote for their choice in the governorship election on September 21st 2024.

"I want to use this medium to call on Uhunmwode people and Edo people to come out en masse from May 28 to June 7th 2024 for the continuous voters registration ahead of Edo State governorship election. All eligible voters who are of age are kindly advised to make use of this period to enlist in the voters registration exercise in order to exhibit their civic responsibility as citizens of Edo State and the country at large".

He stated that the power of the electorate lies in the voters card and sued for compliance from Uhunmwode people across the ten wards in the local government during the exercise.

"I urge all our people to be part of the Edo project as we work collectively for a better and more prosperous Edo State as guaranteed by the Asue/Ogie candidature. Together we can", he added.

This is the month of passover that will end on Easter day, celebrated by Christians to mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Our administration in Uhunmwode Local Government Council will continue to prioritize life impacting programmes and projects that will renew the faith of our people in governance, towards actualizing our vision of giving Uhunmwode a new face.

As we prepare for the electioneering activities in Edo State, in readiness for the forthcoming governorship election, I urge the good people of Uhunmwode to remain steadfast in their belief in the Edo project.

Uhunmwode Council Boss Congratulate Asue Ighodalo on Emergence as PDP Candidate

The Executive Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Area Hon Adodo Kenneth Osarobo has sent a message of congratulation to Barr Asue Ighodalo on his victory at the PDP governorship primaries held on September 21st 2024.

Hon Adodo in the message described the election as victory for the PDP family and Edo people at large. He said that the unanimous victory of Bar Asue Ighodalo has further strengthened the party's internal democracy thereby positioning it for victory in the forthcoming governorship election.

The council boss stated that Bar Asue Ighodalo as an astute lawyer, banker, financial expert and boardroom executive has the capacity and eminently qualified to govern the State. He expressed his unwavering optimism that the PDP candidate will not betray the trust of Edo people if elected as Edo State Governor.

He called on Edo people to come out enmasse of September 21st 2024 to cast their vote for the PDP as a sure way to reap the dividends of democracy in the state, of which the party is known for.

He commended the delegates from Uhunmwode local government and other delegates from all the local government areas in Edo State for keeping fate with the breath of fresh air that will resonate across the state with Bar Asue Ighodalo as the State governor.

He concluded; 'Asue Ighodalo I know, You Know and we all know, is the man that knows what to do to project Edo State to the Eldorado that he has promised Edo people. September 21st 2024 is sacrosanct".

Governor Obaseki Commiserate with Pa Dickson Imasogie on Demise of his wife

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has commiserated with Edo South PDP Senatorial leader and National Delegate representing Uhunmwode Local government, Pa Dickson Imasogie on the demise of his dear wife, Late Mrs Jane Imasogie.

Governor Godwin Obaseki who payed a condolence visit to Pa Imasogie in Benin City, expressed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family over the loss and prayed for the repose of her soul. He expressed his admiration for Pa Dickson Imasogie who despite his bereavement was able to exercise his duties to his party in the last PDP National Delegate Election.

In his response, Pa Dickson Imasogie thanked Governor Godwin Obaseki for the condolence visit. He commended the State Governor for the development strides in Edo State. He promised to take the message to the people that the governor is working and means well for Edo people.

Receiving the Governor and his entourage, the Executive Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Area, Hon Adodo Kenneth Osarobo thanked the State Governor for the condolence visit to the PDP leader despite his busy schedule. He informed that he led the Council executives to condole with Pa Dickson Imasogie on his loss. He prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.

Other PDP leaders present at the visit were the Chief of Staff to Edo State Governor, Hon Osaigbovo Iyoha, Commissioner for local Government Affiars, Hon Monday Osaigbovo, Hon Timothy Osadolo, PDP Deputy National Youth Leader, Hon Kaycee Osamwonyi, representing Uhunmwode Constituency at Edo State House of Assembly, Hon Richard Edebiri, Special Advicer to the State Governor, Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Constituency, Hon Bright Egharevba, Vice Chairman Uhunmwode Local Government Area and Mr Lucky Oseye, Secretary to the local government.

Late Mrs Jane Imasogie died at the age of 71 and until her death, was the Market Woman Leader, New Benin Market.

PDP Uhunmwode Local Government Endorse Asue Ighodalo for Edo State Governor 2024

The leadership of PDP at the 10 wards and local government level in Uhunmwode local government have endorsed Dr Asue Ighodalo for Edo State Governor 2024. This was the unanimous position at Uhunmwode PDP Secretariat Ehor, during the familiarization visit of the aspirant.

Consequent upon a motion moved by Sen. Roland Owie, former Senate Chief Whip and seconded by Hon Charles Egbe, PDP leader, with a call for voice vote affirmation by Hon Adodo Kenneth Osarobo, the Executive Chairman, the party expressly endorsed the frontline aspirant to steer the ship of the PDP in the September 24th governorship election.

In their separate speech, Chief Dickson Imasogie, Edo South Senatorial leader, Hon Tim Osadolo, PDP Deputy National Youth Leader, Sen Roland Owie, former Senate Chief Whip, Hon Adodo Kenneth Osarobo, Uhunmwode Executive Chairman, Hon Charles Egbe, PDP Uhunmwode Leader and Hon Taiwo Iyoha, Acting Chairman, PDP Uhunmwode Local government, they expressed their support for the governorship ambition of Dr Asue Ighodalo and conveyed the unified acceptance PDP Uhunmwode Local government to endorse Dr Asue Ighodalo.

Chief Dickson Etose Imasogie, Edo South PDP Senatorial leader, assured the aspirant that the delegates from PDP Uhunmwode Local government will vote for him at the February primaries.

Earlier at the rally, Dr Asue Ighodalo promised to turn Edo state into the pride of the nation by creating an Edo that will be real for generations to come, when elected as Edo State governor. He assured the party faithfuls that he will run an all inclusive government and appealed for their support at the forthcoming PDP primaries. He stated, "Give me the opportunity to create 'obodo' Nigeria and I promise that we shall have an Eldorado in Edo state".

Uhunmwode Council Chairman Reaffirms Commitment to all inclusive administration

**Meets with NYSC, NIPOST and Innaerua Community

The Executive Chairman of Uhunmwode local government area, Hon Adodo Kenneth Osarobo has reaffirmed his commitment to carry all groups and communities along in the administration, stressing that collaborative partnerships will be deployed to ensure the sustenance of democratic dividends.

The Council Chairman disclosed this at Ehor, when he received in audience, NYSC members posted to the Uhunmwode local government, NIPOST staff and a delegation form Innaerua community who were on a congratulatory and familiarization visit.

Hon Adodo Kenneth said that the job, though enormous, will be tackled holistically by the administration to advance the growth and development of the local government.

In their separate speeches, the coordinator of NYSC and NIPOST in Uhunmwode Local Government as well as the leader of the delegation from Innaerua community congratulated the council Chairman on his victory and inauguration. They sued for the support of the local government to effectively discharge their duties

Innaerua Community most especially, thanked the Council boss for keeping to his campaign promise to address the their water challenge as they community received the Head of Department of Works for a feasibility study of site.

63 Years of Nationhood, Call for Sustained Commitment to National Growth

Nigerians the world over are today celebrating the proclamation of independence from British rule on 1 October 1960. 63 solid years have gone and we are still one indivisible nation.

Our nation have been bedeviled by socio-economic challenges since our Independence, which have threatened our corporate existence. But despite these harsh circumstances, Nigerians have shown the resilient spirit and survivalist mechanism to move on, with the expectation of better days in the future.

Great nations of the world have passed through challenges and came out stronger. Let us eschew rancor, bitterness, ethnic rivalry, religious intolerance, corrupt practices and strive to contribute our quota to the development of our fatherland.

To the good people of Uhunmwode local government area, I want to assure you that the gains of Independence will be harnessed to give our people a new lease of life, replete with strong foundations for development of our locality. We will institute a legacy that will stand the test of time.

Hold tenaciously to the Ideals of RTEAN - Com Momoh tells RTEAN EDO STATE members

The State Chairman of Road Transport Employer's Association of Nigeria, RTEAN, Edo State branch, Com Charles Momoh, has called on members of the association to exercise their duties in line with the constitution so as to uplift the image of the association.

Addressing members of the association at the State Executive Council meeting in Benin City, Com Momoh tasked them to exhibit diligence in their operational units while assuring that the rights and welfare of members will be prioritized by the State Executive Council.

He advised them to always attend the meetings as an avenue to bring forward their challenges and situation reports from the various Chapels for necessary action by the State Executive Council.

Members were decorated with ranks in the RTEAN Marshal uniforms at the meeting, by the State Chairman, Com Charles Momoh and others.

Edo South Senatorial District spoke in unison during Edo State PDP Campaign Mega Rally held in Benin City. A clear message to support the Rescue Nigeria mission on February 25th and March 11th was passed.

The mega rally was well attended by political leaders, party supporters and PDP candidates from Edo South Senatorial District.

Governor Godwin Obaseki who presented the party flags to the Senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly Candidates from Edo South Senatorial District called on party supporters to canvass votes for PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections. He said that Edo South Senatorial District have voted the PDP in the presidential elections since 1999 and urged then to do so come February 25th.

Ahead of the February 25th and March 11th Elections, PDP Uhunmwode Campaign Council since commenced the Unit to Unit Campaign tour in the Local Government Area with a mission of adequate Representation and Good Governance at the Federal, Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly.

The Campaign rallies in all the communities visited so far have been marked with massive turnout and great expectation from the people who are eagerly waiting to cast their vote for Atiku/Okowa for President, Mathew Iduoriyekemwen for Senate, Roland Asoro for House of Representatives and Amb Kaycee Osamwonyi for Edo State House of Assembly.
