Dear friends, and THIN LIZZY fans worldwide. As many of you are aware, at the age of eighteen, I started my career playing with the legendary Thin Lizzy. Those were some of the best years of my life, and it was an incredible honour to work alongside Phil Lynott, Scott Gorham and Brian Downey, and the many brilliant musicians since then that have been a part of the Thin Lizzy family. Over the last few years, I’ve had the privilege of being invited to sing at many Thin Lizzy tribute concerts across Europe, Scandinavia, Ireland and the UK. The Vibe for Philo in Dublin, King’s Call, Stockholm, and many more. Each of these shows have been amazing, and made me realise how much I missed the band, and playing those brilliant Lizzy songs. For this reason, myself and the DARE boys have decided to form a new band, featuring the immortal music of Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy. Introducing Darren Wharton's Renegade Thin Lizzy’s Renegade album was my second album with the band, and the world tour that followed featured my co-write with Philip, Angel Of Death. After that hugely successful tour, we went on to record the ‘Thunder and Lightning’ album, and again working with Phil, co-wrote ‘The Sun Goes down’. Renegade, the band will be featuring songs from Renegade, Chinatown and Thunder & Lighting, plus all the Greatest Hits.

Will this have an impact on DARE? Absolutely not! Dare are already adding live dates for 2024, and currently re-recording our Blood from Stone album, as well as writing songs for a new studio album.
‘Renegade’ is simply a way we get to play the Thin Lizzy songs we all love. I always said playing with Thin Lizzy was like riding a high speed runaway train, that you never wanted to get off.
So in the words of Phil himself.
He’s just a boy, that has lost his way, he’s a rebel, that has fallen down, but when he rides, he’s like the wind, to you and me, he’s a renegade. RENEGADE live dates will be coming soon!
