Investigative podcast taking a deep dive into the disappearance of Ebby Steppach. Launching in March
She should’ve turned 27 yesterday. Happy heavenly birthday sweet girl 💜
8 years 💔
7 years ago today, someone stole the life of Ebby Jane Steppach. She will forever be 18 years old, on the precipice of the rest of her life. All of the potential and opportunities in the world directly ahead of her.
So much of what happened to Ebby is shrouded in mystery. What is for sure though, is that someone hurt Ebby. Someone else is the reason her body was found in the pipe. And it is vital to know who, because Ebby deserves Justice. She deserves to rest peacefully. Everyone who loved Ebby deserves answers.
7 years is far too long without answers. It is a shame it has been this long, and there is still no resolution. Ebby, we are still here, and still fighting for you. You are so loved. We will find Justice for you.
4 years ago today, Ebby’s remains were found in Chalamont Park, less than 100ft from where her car had been found in 2015. She could have been found far earlier. She should have been found far earlier.
Hope you’re having fun up in heaven sweet girl 💕
I’m stunned to say the least. My heart just hearts so much for Ebby.
We have a lot of thoughts after watching the Dr Phil special today that covered Ebby Steppach’s case. A lot of thoughts.
After the season finale of Catherine Townsend’s Hell and Gone Podcast and the bonus episode of Subterfuge in Chalamont Park, the public learned an important piece of the puzzle in Ebby Steppach’s disappearance and death. That Tommy Hudson and the LRPD lied about how Ebby’s body was found. The narrative ever since her body was recovered in 2018 has come from Hudson. He’s claimed that after reviewing evidence and theories in the case, they decided to search the one part of Chalamont Park that had never been searched before. The drainage pipe that was located just feet away from where Ebby’s car had been found. And lo and behold, Ebby’s body was there. But that’s a lie, a completely fabricated story.
There had been plumbing problems within Chalamont Park in the years following Ebby Steppach’s disappearance. On May 22, 2018, the police were called to Chalamont Park. They had been called because a couple of plumbers investigated what was causing the drainage issues. They had called someone from the city who had access to cameras small enough to place down into the drain and see what had been clogging the entire drain. That’s when they discovered human remains, which were later confirmed to be Ebby’s.
To make matters worse, we learned from the hosts of both podcasts mentioned previously that LRPD and Tommy Hudson were asked by several people, including the PI, to search the drain. These people were asking LRPD to search the drain because it was the only part of the park that had not been searched, and there had been reports of a “smell of decomposition” coming from the drainage pipe in the weeks following Ebby’s disappearance. But they never did, until two plumbers found the remains themselves.
Perhaps even more alarming, a major piece of evidence was revealed during this episode of Dr Phil. One of Ebby’s friends was interviewed, and she said the following statement.
“She came and stayed the night and seemed upset. I asked her what was wrong and she said Michael (her stepdad) had pushed her down the stairs after getting into another argument and that’s when they made her move out. But then Laurie told me that was a lie.”
Why would Ebby have lied about her stepfather abusing her? Why have all of the comments and posts about her stepfather potentially knowing more than he has said been deleted? Why have we heard rumors for years that Ebby’s stepfather had a toxic relationship with her? Why is Laurie painting her daughter to be a liar?
What is actually going on here? Our heads are spinning so fast we can’t see straight. Every time we think we understand this case, there’s another bombshell dropped.
All we know for sure is that Ebby Steppach was murdered. That Laurie, her mother, has not kept a straight story, by any stretch of the imagination. That something stinks to high heaven in this case. And that our hearts are so broken and angry over poor Ebby. She deserved the entire world, and instead, the universe dealt her an awful set of cards.

I’ll be joining Catherine on next week’s episode for an interview. I’ll be sharing how I knew Ebby, why I started a podcast about her case in early 2021, and about how her body was actually found. The entire truth still hasn’t come out yet.
I’ll also be releasing a bonus episode in the near future, likely later this week. I’ll be going over what all we have learned from Catherine’s investigation, and the information I acquired about LRPD’s recovery of her remains. Thanks to a couple of brave tipsters, the truth is starting to come out.
I made a promise at the start of this journey to not give up on Ebby. To find the truth, no matter how long it took. Ebby, I think we are getting closer to that. We haven’t forgotten about you. Hope you are resting in love beautiful girl.
