From 20—24 April 2022, two signature stores at Aesop VivoCity and Marina Bay Sands will be converted to make space for the . For its Singapore iteration, the lens is turned to womanhood so as to spotlight female voices, authors and allies from Southeast Asia.

Since its inception, has cultivated a quietly philanthropic spirit, making concerted gestures to create a positive impact. Their recent initiative, the , has seen the shelves of its retail stores cleared off usual products to display titles by various q***r authors. The resulting array of fiction, non-fiction and poetry were displayed in the Aesop stores around the world. Visitors to the library are invited to select a work of their choice to take home for free, regardless of purchase.

We were inspired by the idea of disobedient bodies that embrace poetic elasticity as a means to refuse static and definitive conditions of race, gender, sexuality, identity, and aesthetics.

: Meeting through music. Seizing small moments of connection with strangers can add variety to the mundane, and music is a great conversation starter. Ever thought of ways to strike up a conversation with strangers? Asking about a person’s song choice offers a window into their memories and tastes without invading their space. While not all of us can travel this instant, we can get to know the community around us—piecing an auditory social fabric of our current time and place and a look into the social history specific to where you are. It also invites outside participation by sharing it with friends and discussing the songs you encountered. How about a souvenir that keeps on giving?

The Glass House / Philip Johnson (1949)

When he was awarded the first ever Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1979, the jury described Philip Johnson as someone who “produced consistent and significant contributions to humanity and the environment," adding that "as a critic and historian, he championed the cause of modern architecture and then went on to design some of his greatest buildings.” However, even after winning the Pritzker Prize at age 73, Johnson still had so much more of his legacy to build: in the years after 1979, Johnson almost completely redefined his style, adding another chapter to his influence over the architecture world.
