In order to divert enemy forces away from Sicily, British Intelligence is aiming to convince the Germans that the invasion will occur in Greece instead. As part of this they intend to leak false information on the Greek invasion to the Germans through having a dead body wash up in Spain.

Sudan Nominates 'Goodbye, Julia' for Oscar's Best International Film Category

We are thrilled to announce that the CineGouna award-winning film 'Goodbye, Julia' has been officially chosen to represent Sudan in the Best International Film category at the Oscars. Directed by Mohamed Kordofani, the film was one of the projects that received financial and artistic support during the fourth edition of the festival in 2020.

The creators continued their remarkable journey, captivating audiences and critics at various international film festivals, including making history as the first Sudanese film selected for the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival.

This project, born in El Gouna, returns to its roots as it competes in the Feature Narrative Films category at the festival's sixth edition, taking place from October 13th to 20th, for its regional premiere. 'Goodbye, Julia' tells the story of the complex relationship and differences between the communities of northern and southern Sudan.

وكما انطلق هذا العمل من مدينة الجونة، فسيعود إليها مجددا كأحد الأفلام المشاركة في مسابقة الأفلام الروائية الطويلة بالدورة السادسة من المهرجان، خلال الفترة من ١٣ إلى ٢٠ أكتوبر القادم، وفي عرضه الأول داخل الشرق الأوسط.

يحكي لنا «وداعا جوليا» عن امرأتين تمثلان العلاقة المعقدة والاختلافات بين مجتمعات شمال السودان وجنوبه، قبل فترة قصيرة من الانفصال في 2011.
