Three women, 63-year-old Ann Morris, her 59-year-old sister, Sally Nicholson and Sally's daughter, Helen, 22 -- were savagely hacked to pieces with what investigators believe to be a hatchet. The mutilation of the victims was so severe that they could only be positively ID'ed through post-mordem testing.

The following day, police spotted one of the victims' cars sitting outside the home of 16-year-old Clinton Bankston, Jr. Police quickly realized Bankston was involved and he was arrested on three counts of murder.

Based on the facts of the case, police were able to tie Bankston to another violent crime that was perpetrated in April of that year, where two other people brutally lost their lives. So on top of the triple murder he had just committed, Bankston was brought up on murder charges for the stabbing deaths of Glenn and Rachel Sutton.

Bankston readily confessed to the crimes, but claimed that he had an accomplice that was responsible for most of the carnage that took place during these robberies. Investigators never found any evidence that anyone else was involved in these crimes, and surmised that Bankston fabricated an accomplice to try to shift most of the blame off of himself.

Clinton Bankston pleaded guilty and his defense team claimed that he was mentally incompetent, but that didn’t stop him from receiving the death penalty. Bankston was later rescued from death row by a state law forbidding the ex*****on of killers 16 or younger at the time of their offense, he was sentenced to five terms of life imprisonment.

Clinton is now 49 years old is still sitting his murdering ass in a Georgia prison serving his sentence, even despite him filing a motion seeking to vacate his guilty plea in April 2019. His motion was denied and his sentence upheld.
