53rd Anniversary Of The Moon Landing.

Over half a century ago, humans landed on the moon, and NASA plans to do it again with the Artemis missions. According to NASA officials, the Artemis 1 mission – our first step towards returning humans to the moon – could launch as early as Monday, August 29, 2022.

The goal of the Artemis missions is to establish the first long-term presence on the Moon, and use what we learn on and around the Moon to take the next giant leap: sending the first astronauts to Mars.

The ultimate sustainable packaging! We need more of this!

Vendors in Asia have come up with alternative packaging to eliminate the use of plastics by using baskets made from coconut fronds & banana leaf packaging.

The baskets (made entirely out of coconut fronds) are locally called ‘Sulingkat’. The fruit & veg wrapped in banana leaves also make the agricultural produce last longer since they keep the moisture in while blocking the heat.

In Southeast Asia, more than 75% of the material value of recyclable plastic is lost.
With only 18 to 28% of recyclable plastic recovered & recycled, most plastic packaging waste pollutes the environment, according to studies by the World Bank Group.

Using coconut & banana leaves are a great alternative to plastic as the leaves are large, thick & supple enough to be folded. This method significantly reduces the amount of plastic required.
