Hello there, reader, browser, strangers and friends. What you have here, on your monitor or your smartphone or tablet, is the culmination of three+ years of work. Roundabouts June of 2011, ChrisCross (you know… that TALL guy who drew Justice League, Captain Marvel, and Bloodshot) and I created the company that you are learning about right here, right now. At t
he time, I was working a job in retail and Chris was drawing the odd project here and there. He knew, as I knew and know, that the only thing that should be taking our focus was our own IPs (intellectual properties). We wanted to create our own worlds and share them with the public. But we didn’t want it to be about just making comic books. We wanted to branch into animation, film, video games, toys…you name it. The word that Chris threw at me was “transmedia” which is a hard concept to explain, so I’ll do my best. Basically, the idea is to have an IP bleed into all forms of media, where each iteration of the IP isn’t exclusive, but complimentary. In other words, if you read a comic with a character, he will not only be recognizable in the video game or tv show, but those other versions of the character will enhance the comic (or action figure, etc.). It’s about creating something that lasts no matter how you absorb it. It’s hard to say no to that kind of concept, but that is why it’s taken so long to launch the site (and company). Thankfully, we have a support team and other creators that think the way we do and are willing to build this company on the strong foundation that Chris and I represent.
