Franklin and Downs Roof Explodes.
Our friend Krista Clatterbuck happened upon the smoldering Franklin & Downs building at 12 & G that was sadly being considered for demolition. Seeing the smoke from 13th St, she stopped to film and captured the explosion that spread the fire. Thanks Krista for this and so sad that we are losing our historic landmarks that make up our Modesto heritage. @historyharrison

The 151st Modesto 4th of July parade was a beautiful experience. Thousands of people lined the parade route, enjoyed cafe patios and celebrated America’s Independence from an authoritarian monarchy. Modesto celebrated in a big way, with over 100 parade entries, celebrating the Modesto Garden Club’s 100 years, the amazing community work of Jeff Reed and the Reed Family Companies and Modesto’s school of rock leader Darin Morris. Thanks to all of the Kiwanis of Modesto volunteers, the City of Modesto and all who entered. ModestoView’s Chris Murphy was parade announcer along with KAT Country’s DJ Walker, and Modesto’s Radio Rick. Great day to celebrate.
