Meet Courtney Konstantin!

She has two titles coming up in the Twisted Tales collection: Wish (2/18/25) and Steamboat (4/1/25), bringing us new, horrific stories about Aladdin and Steamboat Willie!
We asked her a few questions about being a horror author.

Q: What inspired you to start writing horror?
CK: I didn't go into writing, intending on writing horror. I wanted to write stories that had undeniable human risks, that would bring emotional reactions from readers. It just so happened that horror was the genre that started that road for me.

Q: Who are your biggest influences in the horror genre?
CK: I consume a lot of media within the horror genre. I really enjoy horror movies and some of the recent ones were the Quiet Place movies, where you could almost feel the risks the survivors had to take to stay alive one more day. I've never been a big reader of Stephen King, but his stories that have been made into movies are largely fascinating to me. I read a lot of zombie stories, including Mark Tufo, Jonathan Maberry and a number of others.

Q: If you got to eat lunch with your favorite horror author (dead or alive) what is the first question you'd ask them?
CK: I've gotten to meet Jonathan Maberry a few times and I don't believe I've ever used my time wisely. (I get a bit socially awkward at times lol.) I think if I wasn't an awkward weirdo, my question would be how story inspiration strikes them. I'm currently reading a book by Stephen King on the craft of writing, and reading about how he came up with the story of Carrie is absolutely fascinating to me.

Meet Audrey Brice !

You may already know her as a co-author with Andre Gonzalez from the Amelia Doss trilogy. She has two titles coming up in the Twisted Tales collection: Alice (2/4/25) and Dethroning Oz (4/29/25)

We asked her a few questions about being a horror author.

Q: What inspired you to start writing horror?
AB: I fell in love with horror when I was still in grade school and my aunt left a copy of Stephen King's Night Shift at our house. I grabbed it and devoured it cover to cover. I thought the Boogeyman was one of the scariest stories I'd ever read at that time, and I loved it. To be honest, I hadn't considered writing horror until I was much older. I've always loved to read it and loved horror films. I suppose it was a natural progression for me.

Q: Any personal experiences that have influenced your writing?
AB: I am a natural medium and have had a lot of paranormal experiences in my life. I suppose this also lead me toward horror. The unknown and the hidden are fascinating to me.

Q: Can you share any advice or words of wisdom for your readers and fans?
AB: Don't ever split up or go to check out that noise alone. Ever. Especially in the dark. That's how the monsters get you.
