New Video - My Father Died

After some thinking Faris has decided to share the story of his Father’s passing and the events that took place after. We received the news about a month ago while we were 2,500 miles away from home in the middle of Mexico. It was the worst news a son could ever receive and some really hard decisions had to be made. Happy Spring Break and holidays for some of you! 🏖 🐰

We are currently celebrating this weekend in Belize 🇧🇿 on the water with some friends!

Holidays in the van can be hard since we’re away from family but we are grateful to have each other and our friends! ♥️

Plus Belize is absolutely an amazing country with the bluest water we’ve ever seen and some delicious cuisine🤤

This is the first time we’ve traveled to another country since before the craziness of 2020 and the feeling is incredible and slightly addicting 😁

We are so grateful to be here!!

After 3 months of driving across Mexico, we’ve found one it’s best kept secret! 🤫 🚐

Tolantongo, where you can swim in hundreds of hot pools overlooking the mountains. 🏔

Explore the thermal caves and camp right next to one of the bluest rivers I’ve ever seen!! 💦

All the water here is heated by neighboring volcanic activity 🌋

If you’re looking for an adventure and something more than just Mexico resorts than Tolantongo is it!!

Guanajuato has been hands down our favorite city in Mexico 🇲🇽

We got to camp in the hills in this sweet old man’s backyard with a view overlooking the city 🌆

We stayed here for a week and every morning at 8 am we walked into town to take our Spanish lessons ☺️

Once our lessons were over at noon we went on a hunt for the best hole in the wall lunch spots 🌮

After a week we feel like we found some great taco, gordita, enchilada, empanada, torta spots 😁

Before Covid we were saving up to go backpacking internationally ✈️

Unfortunately the world had other plans. So we adjusted and tried out van life 🚐

Now adding international travel with van life is a whole new genre of travel and we are so happy we found it ♥️

In our last video we shared our NEW TRAVEL GOAL CANADA TO CENTRAL AMERICA! 🚐

So in this episode we start the new adventure by taking a 16 hour cargo ferry across the Sea of Cortez to Mainland Mexico 🇲🇽

This whole experience was an adventure in itself.

We had to store our two bikes and bike rack in the van so our cost didn’t double, and then we were surrounded by semi trucks while we got to sleep in our van on a ferry ⛴

Things became very real when not one worker spoke English. But hey we got two free meals 😁

Let the mainland adventures begin 🎉

It’s taken me some time to really comprehend what’s happening in the world right now.

I’m Ukrainian and it kills me to see such a beautiful country and incredible people in such distress. 😢

To think that all the history, memories, and family could be gone is devastating. 💔

A normal week in Van Life Baja Mexico now up on YouTube! 🎥

Todos Santos may be one of our favorite places in Baja! 🌴

It’s known as a surf town where you can rent a board and learn to surf with your van right on the sand🏄🏾‍♂️

Proud of Faris as he got out there every day and ended the week with a gnarly wave 🌊 🤙

My favorite part was watching the baby sea turtles 🐢 being released into the ocean at sunset! ♥️

Mexico Beaches are unreal🏝

You can find them all over Baja but this one was a little more difficult to get to! 😬

We heard from a local that we would need to cross the bay in order to find it 🌊

Since we didn’t have a boat we decided to swim with all our belongings because we didn’t want to miss out on the view 🏊‍♀️

It was well worth the trek because we got this one all to ourselves! 🍻

Our first ever van meet up 🚐

So we’ve heard of van meet ups before but the timing and locations never seemed to work out 😌

But once down in Baja we met .your.own.roadshow who is another van couple who we found out used to live 10 minutes from us back in MI. Which is crazy because we didn’t meet them until Baja! 🤯

They informed us about the Escapar a la Baja van meet up that was scheduled to happen while we’d be in Baja. There were way too many coincidences not to go! 🌴

We were so stoked and the meetup completely blew away our expectations!

There were over 200 rigs on 1 beach with tons of festivities like volleyball, yoga, Bloody Mary bars, a circus, coconut stands, pina coladas and more! 🏐 🎪

But our absolute favorite part was meeting all the incredible people. We made some human and pup friends that we know we will stay in touch with forever ♥️

Wow 2021 was a wild year! With everything going on in the world right now we are so thankful that we were even able to travel North America 🚐

We’ve seen some incredible land scapes, met some great people, and made everlasting memories 🏔

Happy Holidays!

We hope you are having a wonderful time celebrating the holidays with friends and family! We are currently hanging out with our families back in Michigan!

Just wanted to share how thankful we are for this past year and how appreciative we are of you and our community.
Pretty wild to think a year ago we were still sitting in our desk jobs about to embark on the wildest adventures of our lives.

We both had corporate 9-5s in automotive for 5 years before we finally made the leap. We saved up as much money as possible to make this dream into a reality.

With everything going on in this world van life has really taught us to be appreciative for what we have and the importance of quality time with each other.

We couldn't make this lifestyle a reality without the support of you, our families, and friends. THANK YOU!

We took this week off of posting to celebrate Christmas and the New Year but videos will resume 1/2/2022.

We parked Tina back in the LA area so she will be ready to adventure when we fly back to her! Next Stop - REACHING OUR TRAVEL GOAL OF CANADA TO MEXICO!

WE LOVE YOU GUANAJUATO FOOD ♥️After driving all around Mexico we’ve learned that certain towns and cities are known for specific dishes 🥘 Guanajuato is known for many:1. Tacos Al Vapor 🌮 - not your normal taco. The tortilla is brushed with a flavorful mixture of spices and then fried before being filled, wrapped and then steamed. The cooking process creates one of the most flavorful tacos you’ve ever eaten! 🤤 2. Guacamaya 🥪 - tasty, giant tortas (sandwiches) and usually sold by street vendors. They have chicharron (pork rinds), avocado 🥑, spicy salsa, lime, and sometimes egg in them🥚 3. Tacos De Cabeza 🌮- tacos with pork head meat. Pork head sounds a little odd but once you slow roast it, it becomes some of the most tender, juicy meat perfect for tacos. 😆4. Enchiladas Mineras 🥘- created during the time of the Spanish colony and mining era. The miners wives would prepare this dish for their husbands. Hence where it got it’s name. The enchiladas are filled with carrots 🥕, sweet potato 🍠 , and chile paste. 🌶 They’re supposed to be very filling so the miners would get fueled up for the next day 🤗5.
