The kind of love everyone deserves 🌿The kind of love I crave for; To lay under a tree, caressing each other, collecting berries, running around bare feet, rolling in the grass as the day comes to an end. And then we begin again.
I love happy endings and I think I left things on a sad note with ‘the racing heart’ series. But I am ofcourse still hopeful that I will find love and so I thought I would create something sweet and charming🕊
I had gotten so busy with my art and the work that comes along with it that I had forgotten that I could love and be loved. It is when I recently met someone, and although it didn’t work out, I was reminded how important it is for me to love someone. To have someone to care for and think about.
I didn’t fall in love, I fell in hope. I didn’t see this person for who they were, but projected my idea of an ideal partner onto this person. I built up dreams of loving and being loved by this person only to then have my heart broken ❤️🩹
I look at this experience as a gift because it reminded me of my dream and to stay open. For the past month I’ve been carrying around pieces of my broken heart as I try to go on about my life, doing the mundane things, meeting friends, creating my art and planning for the future - always feeling guilty talking about this because technically I’m trying to get over something that never really happened. And yet it hurts just the same but when I look at these images, my heart experiences a slight wave of hope and happiness lift it up, a certain lightness washes over.
These images mark an end to one of my most emotional chapters in (recent)life but also at the same time, a new beginning🌷
A big thank you to these two beauties 💖🥺

Every once in a while, I miss my hometown Hyderabad. Such an endearing place, with such lovely people! 😊🥹 If you’re from Hyderabad, say hi to me! 😊👋

As a photographer, I love observing people playing with cameras. I want to see what they see, and what they find worth capturing - it’s fascinating actually.
I also love observing (in a non-creepy way) how the camera can be a way people interact with one another.
What do you think?

Cute little gestures that makes a relationship alive💙

"a long distance relationship for almost 3 years now, and we still keep up small gestures like this 🫶🏽"
A hand to hold. A shoulder to lean on. A wide smile to welcome you. A lap to let loose. A quiet place to sleep. A comfort to confide. A roof to seek shelter. Home, house and shelter.
Homecoming is nostalgic, this joy is a privilege to experience. The doors remind you of the people who opened your heart to you, nine steps from the door, the room leads you to a heaven where you had to rest your sleep after a tough tiring day at school after a football match, some eighteen steps from there take you to your grandma’s room filled with smells of pickles and preserves and thirty seven steps from there you have your own lumber room of books and memories. Isn’t homecoming a joy to go back to your roots, a place full of secret magic that gives you answers every time you feel lost? When you are lost you can just go and sit in that verandah which is cool even on a midday, when the sun is at screaming heat. It’s all amazing how these places in your house tell you to slow down, take stair instead of that lift, choose to sit under the shade of the terrace and enjoy the sunset, have that cup of tea/juice to refresh yourself, anything else that reminds you to hold on, because if everyone is going let go who’s going to hold on?
Walking back to your house to hear that comfort sound after a day or a long lost affair in a new city, always helps you travel and measure your inner self and strength.

The South Asian American Digital Archive is a Philly based organization that gives voice to South Asian Americans through documenting, preserving, and sharing stories that represent their unique and diverse experiences. In this process, they’ve collected these experiences into ‘Our Stories’ - a book that weaves together the myriad histories, perspectives, and identities that make up the South Asian American community.
As an immigrant myself, I read through the pages with a deep sense of understanding. The history is immense and very moving. It made me think about what we hold onto and why. And how the little things we carry with us as immigrants often weigh more than words can express.
Thank you so much SAADA for the work that you do to preserve our stories.

Amjad Islam Amjad-the legend
Meh bas ek baar La-jawab howa
میں بس ایک بار لاجواب ہوا
Jab kesi nay kaha "Kon ho Tum"
جب کسی نے کہا کون ہو تم
Shanakht ka yeh fasla agar "na pehchannay" tak mehdood Rehta.Tab bhi ganemat tha.
Lekin yeh Sorat-e-Haal is waqt aur ziada gambeer hojati hai jab koi "pehchan kar bhi nhi pehchanta".

I look for your traces everywhere. Your presence, your smile,Kolkata and everything that connects the corner to first right. The places that were normalised for our meetings are now waiting for our final reunion. I hope you stay. We will get older, holding hands round the river. Being there for each other in every state. I will capture the way you look at me. Your eyes fills my world with flowers of Heaven. I feel special when I'm around you. I hope you stay ❤ You are my Kolkata. You are

Kuch waqt thehar kar
Apnay apko bhi toh dekho
Yeh ankhon meh jo chupy hain badal usmeh muskaan kaha hai
Apnay liye aaj kia kia?
Khudh apny muskaan ki waja banay?
Yeh khamoshiyan tumharay andar tehar rhi hain
Usko nadiyan meh behny do
Jo rawani kay girdh
Tum ho aur bas tum
Apnay apko bhi dekho
Ruko zara
Abhi ruko
do lamhaat apnay liye bhi wakf krky dekho na
Aur han dekho apnay apko
Tumhay pata hai?
Kitnay haseen lamhaat anay walay hain?
Tum yahan tak pohanch gayay
Agay bhi sab krlogy
Mujhy yakeen hai
Khudh apni muskaan toh bano

Life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of "little things", in which smiles and kindness, and small obligations given habitually, are what preserve the heart and secure comfort.
Sometimes we neglect cute little things in our lives. We can still catch the train to join the remaining ride ♡

Instantly humbled 🥲🙏✨ All my life I’ve travelled by trains and I remember being in love with trains more than any mode of transport. Gradually, convenience and comfort tookover. As grateful as I am to be able to go around the world every now and then and afford air travel, I was frankly very skeptical about travelling by train last night. My tail bone pain shoots up when I sit in discomfort for too long. And ofcourse We all know the cleanliness situation in most trains. But due to multiple reasons, I took the overnight train after so long! I personally love being by the window and yes our phone gets us all busy but I took a moment to pause and look outside to live my childhood moments. It was dark and late at night and yet There was so much to See! God bless everyone 💖✨ ✨: Video and Caption by @duasana #brownpeoplearts
