The Eugene Human Rights Commission’s Homelessness and Poverty Workgroup will host a candlelight vigil and community resource fair for National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day on Sunday, December 21, from 5–7 p.m. at the Eugene Farmers Market Pavilion.
Held on the longest night of the year, the vigil honors and remembers members of our community who passed away while experiencing homelessness. The event provides a space for reflection, remembrance, and community connection and is open to all members of the public.
The evening will begin with a community resource fair from 5–6 p.m., followed by the candlelight memorial from 6–7 p.m. The memorial will include music and opportunities for attendees to gather in remembrance. Community organizations will be present to share information and resources during the resource fair.
