The Rag Films Funding Competition was envisioned as a unique way of adding to the community of Independent film festivals and competitions. We understand first hand how difficult it is to receive funding for your film in this competitive industry. It is impossible to imagine how many brilliant ideas are never realized because of the hurdles that filmmakers have to go through on a daily basis. This

competition was born with the mission of providing funding to films that otherwise would not be made. Rag films will accomplish this by enabling filmmakers, potential filmmakers, and screenwriters the opportunity to receive funding/development of their film/screenplay. The highest rated of entries (top 5%) will be invited to our RFFC Black Tie Event (A Different Kind Of Black Tie) in New Orleans, LA on June 7th, 2014. The climax of that special night will be the announcement of the winners. Besides our grand prizes; attendees will be able to share and talk about their ideas/works with our programmers, judges, distributors, funders, and some specials guests (TBA). All submitters will automatically become members of the RFFC. RFFC members are the sole judges for our online competition (coming in the Fall of 2014) and will receive reduced fees at all future RFFC competitions and events.
