You Had Me at Hello’s co-hosts, Amanda and Joey, met in 2014 on the internet. Amanda lived in Maine almost her whole life until she found an opportunity to make a change, and boom! husetts, she emailed a guy whose profile said, “has cat, writes stuff,” and asked, “are you real?”
We make each other laugh all the time, it’s a beautiful thing. After getting married in Las Vegas by an Elvis impersonator across the street from an IHOP (one of our favorite breweries, Magic Hat, puts funny little sayings and phrases under the caps. Amanda’s beer cap with dinner one night said, “Elvis says hi.” It was a sign), we moved to Los Angeles with our old man cat, Reebo. In our early 20s, he was in a few bands, she worked at record stores. We both went to school for film/media, and both came out writers. He’s writing comic books and crime novels and she’s working on weirdo essays that no one seems to want to publish. We bond over karaoke, bowling, cats and comedy.
