Hell-o dear friends!

In the lead up to Mab's exciting UK tour and Bloodstock Festival 2024 this summer, there's a very special show to look forward to.
I will be performing a very special MAB set with special guests Dan on guitar (Gramma Vedetta and Aliceissleeping) and Pablo on drums (also Gramma Vedetta), for the mega tribute for Pat Begent, which sadly passed away recently.
This will be a fantastic night and I would like to invite you to take part into Pat's celebration with us🖤
Say thanks to the dude who built London's Alternative scene!
All profits go to HOMELESS ACTION IN BARNET, a charity very close to Pat’s heart.

Proud of our band who nailed a "Best album of 2022" from

Posted • Completing the run of our 2022 Awards, London’s own Anglo-Italian Sci-Fi Stoners swept home the big ‘Best Album 2022’ award for their debut album ‘The Hum of the Machine’, released by on C.D. and 12” vinyl.

These guys came in as winners just a nose in front of , by virtue of just how far they came as a band in 2022, and as recognition for their hard work, and for the evolution of their sound last year.

This album was written, recorded, and self-produced in the depths of the COVID nightmare, but emerged as a fresh, very original record which captures so much of the energy, passion and heart that these guys show when they play live. Just a few short years ago they were a friendly, enthusiastic band in our collective with a promising debut EP, but now they are a fully-formed, road-tested unit with a strong catalogue of hefty, more stoner-focused songs brimming with ideas.

‘The Hum of the Machine’ has garnered some good support across the underground stoner scene worldwide, and with it the band have moved up a level, playing more regularly at , playing more out of town shows, and just recently getting on the bill for a show at the , showing that they are starting to push on in their careers.

Through their own hard graft, battleship tunes like ‘Robots for War’ and ‘Starlight’ have become mainstays in their show, and the physical albums are beautiful offerings themselves with endless thought poured in, detailed liner notes and artwork (the album art is based on a real sculpture by Dan’s grandfather, I believe it was). The guys themselves are absolute dudes who care deeply about the scene, and are often out and about in attendance of other shows. Altogether a well-deserved winner, in a very good year.

It was long overdue, but I finally got to hang out with , the mastermind behind , the promotion agency we work with, we're lucky enough to partner with.

We choose to have a couple of Rum'n'Coke, discuss the past, the future and have some laugh! ( and we also met 🤘)

I met this great dude in 2019 when he invited to play good ol 'The Unicorn. It was then that I got to know his project and met his band Empty Friend.

I still haven't met a more honest, hardworking, humble and loyal guy in the music scene than him. Everything he does, he does with his heart.
The ultimate goal of Civil War is to create a community where music, musicians and concert goers are at the center of the stage and where bands find fertile ground to build their own space in London's heavy rock music scene.

Hail to the man who gives and asks nothing in return.

🗞️ Remember about news kiosks? They're still a thing in Italy, and we're beyond amazed to find out that Gramma Vedetta's THE HUM OF THE MACHINE made it into Rock Hard Italy, one of the last-standing heavy metal paper magazines you can buy at a kiosk in Marco and Dan's native country.
🏆 8,5 out of 10 the the "Best Self-Produced Album of the Month" - mamma mia!

CALLING ALL CIVILIANS! 23-24 July 2022 - London

Today we want to invite all Mandrone Records followers to a great event organized by our partners in crime Civil War. Check it out - killer bands, an amazing venue (Hope and Anchor) and two days of the best emerging bands in the UK.

£10 per ticket means you’re looking at just under £2 per band per day, which is ridiculous value for the quality of these bands.

As ever though, a show is meaningless without you, our friends, fans and fellow bandmates in attendance. People here in London are now ready to go out and see giant headliners at huge venues (with eye-watering ticket prices), but still somehow are hesitant to get out and see real, DIY shows like this.
It’s sad to say, but venues like The Hope & Anchor, and organisations like Civil War (and Mandrone too) will not survive in the long term if our people don’t make time to come down to support these grassroots shows like these, so we need your help.

A final message from Dave Kirk of Civil War: "I know lots of you are planning to / thinking about coming down, but I would like to send out a personal request to the musicians in our collective (even if not playing this time), our regular fans, and our personal friends, to dig deep and come down to our Weekender. We do an awful lot for a lot of bands and people in the scene, all for free (we don’t earn a penny, EVER, for running these shows), and this is where we ask for a little back. The music is gonna be epic and I’m telling you now - you’re going to be glad to be able to say you were there!"
