A suspected Houthi drone attack near Abu Dhabi airport killed at least three people and sparked explosions in Abu Dhabi on Monday. An Abu Dhabi police statement said three tanker trucks carrying fuel exploded in the emirate's Mussafah area after catching fire, with preliminary investigations pointing to a drone attack. One Pakistani and two Indians were killed, and six other people were injured, the UAE's official news agency WAM said. Saudi Arabia, which leads the coalition fighting Houthi rebels, condemned the attack in a statement. "We condemn in the strongest of words the cowardly terror attack that targeted Abu Dhabi International Airport in the UAE," the kingdom's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement. The Criminal Court of Abu Dhabi has sentenced a Pakistani national to death after he was found guilty of possessing narcotics and psychotropic substances with the intention to sell them. The court also ordered the destruction of the seized products, as well as the confiscation of the car and telephone used in the crime. Authorities were informed that the trafficker was delivering large quantities of drugs to him through other persons residing in the UAE and who would conceal the illegal substances in different places before sending photos and contact details to the dealer who, in turn, would send them to other people via WhatsApp. These people would then proceed to the hiding places to sort out, divide, package and distribute the prohibited substances, before sending their contact details and photos so that potential buyers can obtain them. Saturday and Sunday will be the new weekend for government workers from 1st Jan, 2022 onwards. Public sector workers at ministerial level will adopt a new four and a half day working week, with the workforce working Monday to Thursday, with a half day on Friday. The new system will mean federal and many local government workers will work 7.30am to 3.30pm on Monday to Thursday and from 7.30am to midday on Friday. There is the possibility of flexible working and work-from-home options on Fridays, officials said.
