Today on farm stories, we have Aliyu Ibrahim, a smallholder farmer from Zaria, Kaduna state is a maize farmer but occasionally grows soya bean and rice. He has been farming for 15 years.
In this interview, Aliyu takes us through his journey so far in adopting Improved Seed Varieties and using Good Agricultural Practices. He discussed the activities that have been carried out on the farm according to the farming practices suggested in the manual for planting the improved seeds, the challenges he faced and the advantage that the use of the improved seed has over the use of other seeds sold in the market. He mentioned how amazed the other farmers in his community were when they saw his farm and how eager they were to know more about the improved seed and farming methods.

This week we have Raheem Hussein, a smallholder farmer from Ilero, Oyo State. Raheem is from a generation of farmers with over forty years experience in farming. He cultivates thirty hectares of farmland annually, planting cassava and vegetables.
In this interview Raheem discusses his journey into farming and why farming is predominant in his community.
