A few years ago there was a wee chap at my work rolling through telling me that Rage Against the Machine was his favourite band. We'd chat about music pretty frequently and I ended up giving him a few of my old hardcore t-shirts (the classic keyhole Foundation print, you know the one) and put him on to some recommendations I thought he'd like. Mrat (guitars/vocals) in Thantu Thikha has blossomed into a fully-fledged hardcore devotee and i'm absolutely siked to put this out through the label (which is essentially just a vanity project by this point...).
We're going to make some tapes which will hopefully be out at the next "For the Kids" show that Mrat books -- a sort of 'demo launch', if you will. Mrat, Caleb and Jamie (also all unfortunate graduates from my professional life...) are for the culture -- booking shows, supporting other local bands and turning up at every show that's available. He's putting Canberra back on the map (if only in terms of mosh style and spin kicking).
Thanks for your support & hopefully you like this ... it's pretty heavy. Three super young kids who are just getting amongst it. There are a few tote bags left over from the Death Bells show and they're $30 through Bandcamp -- $10 from each sale is donated to the Palestine Red Crescent society الهلال الاحمر الفلسطيني -- we raised over $500 for the PRCS in November/December with our last two shows.
