Se produce gracias al apoyo y como parte de la iniciativa del Digital Studio for Public Humanities. La revista ha sido concebida como un espacio de reflexión sobre los retos y las posibilidades de la escritura creativa, y para difundir la obra de escritores, profesores y alumnos del programa. La revista pretende ser un punto de referencia sobre la literatura en lengua española que se produce en Es
tados Unidos y en otras regiones; también tiene el propósito de establecer puentes con la creciente comunidad hispano hablante en el Estado de Iowa. La revista también forma parte del abanico de programas y publicaciones gracias a los cuales la UNESCO ha designado a Iowa City como “Ciudad de la Literatura”. Iowa Literaria is the e-Journal of the MFA in Spanish Creative Writing of the University of Iowa created with the support of the Digital Studio for Public Humanities (DSPH). It has been designed as a space to reflect on the art of creativity, to approach the complexities and challenges of creative writing, and to publish a variety of literary pieces. The e-Journal has the ambition of becoming a link to the Spanish literary community in the USA and around the world, hosting the works of that community’s writers. It also has the goals of connecting to the growing Hispanic audience in the State of Iowa, and to contribute to the significance of Iowa City as UNESCO City of Literature.
