Our Mtn Craft van got a major upgrade! 🚐 We've organized and labeled all our equipment, ensuring everything has its place. From cameras to cables, our van is now a mobile command center ready for any shoot. Efficiency and organization are the key to our creativity, and we're excited to hit the road with this streamlined setup. 🎥✨
The past few months have been an exhilarating whirlwind for the Mtn Craft team! ☀️ Our travels took us to the sunny shores of Florida, where we balanced numerous shoots with plenty of coffee, sun, and fun. The rest of our days were packed with shoots, panels, spontaneous dancing, and even a few cleanroom suit escapades! 😷
Despite the hectic schedule, we managed to squeeze in some serious planning and creating for the upcoming Mtn Craft Film Festival. Every shoot and event gets us a step closer to bringing our vision to life for October. 🎥

Last week, our crew talked with another business about the West Virginia Capital Access Program. Just like Stone Tower, this shoot is part of a campaign to highlight local businesses and startups that have taken advantage of the resources available through WVCAP. We heard about the ins and outs of Endolumik, a surgical device company that has collaboratively engineered a patented fluorescence-guided gastric calibration system (i.e. bougie) tailored for application in gastrointestinal surgery.

This shoot is part of a campaign to highlight local businesses or startups that have taken advantage of capital provided by WVCAP. This was a fun shoot where we got to not only see the behind the scenes of the coffee biz, but we also got the opportunity to understand how this funding is helping some of our favorite local businesses thrive! 😊

Director's Note:
This still is one of the most fun projects we have had the pleasure of producing. The goal with this project was to give potential remote workers a look into Marion County and what it has to offer. We knew our task was showing off the beauty and potential while also being realistic. People who are likely to move to the area will do so because they love the outdoors not because they expect all the amenities of a larger city. Overall I think this project did a great job of showing off the area and giving people a reason to consider moving to Marion County to work remotely.

“Ambrosia!” is a outlandish slapstick and screwball comedy feature film written and directed by David Gravely and Shane Pierce of Butter Chicken Pictures, and filmed by us.
The film was shot the spring of 2021 in Beckley with collaboration by many local creators.
In 2021 we asked our amazing community to donate to this exciting project and we had a fully funded and successful Seed & Spark fundraising campaign! We are beyond thankful to our community who brought this dream to fruition!

Let's take a look at this throwback video from a series we and Agency LMC produced for Coplin Health Systems. 🎥 In it, we feature an inspiring story of a single mom who turned to Coplin Health Systems for support during the early days of COVID. But the most interesting thing was the way we went about it... 🌟Director's Note: This was a very special shoot for us because we shot three separate stories with three totally different sets of characters for this campaign. All of the characters were paid actors (except for the Coplin providers and staff) and yet we conducted real interviews with them because we wanted the performances to feel unrehearsed and genuine. The resulting commercials told real stories of how Coplin Health Systems is there for their community, but this hybrid style meant that we didn't have to coerce non-actors into uncomfortable situations in front of the camera. There's "nothing to do" in Marion County 😏. In this project from 2022 we showcased the vibrant events, spaces, and activities that make Marion County anything but dull. We showed a lot, but probably barely scratched the surface. It's fun looking back on our projects like this that show all of the vibrancy and community that WV has to offer. A small reminder to go explore your state! 🌟 Directors Note: "This project originated from so many people saying there was nothing to do in Marion County. My goal as the director was to prove them wrong visually by showcasing the many things to do in Marion County. I also wanted to take a little jab by mixing those visuals with deadpan performances from our on-screen talent. This month was full of lots of travel for the Mtn Craft team! We started our month off with the leadership team going on their yearly retreat to talk about the future of Mtn Craft in beautiful Thomas. Soon after, a quick trip to Beckley had us shooting on 16mm film for the first time in a long while. 🎥 Later on in the month, we split up and went to Clearwater, Florida and Ann Arbor, Michigan for simultaneous shoots. We tend to get a little loopy during our busy season! 🤪 There is a shoot, a shoot being produced, or a film festival almost every week till the end of the year. Don't get us wrong; we're very thankful. Last month saw the team shooting some fun projects, traveling to Baltimore, MD, and having team meetings by a waterfall. We got to spend time with family and shoot off some fireworks for the 4th of July. A few of us even got visited by a UAP. 👽 All in all, July was a good month.
