😦 Did you know that I haven’t posted food that I made since July? That’s my whole IG table talk! I’ve been in a real funk in the kitchen and maybe even a bit creatively. Anyway, here’s my half eaten cilantro pesto mushroom quesadilla with Mexican shredded cheese that I realized was instagram worthy 🙌

🌿 The pesto is easy. Handful of cilantro, half an avocado, lime juice, some salt and garlic with olive oil (optional) and water as needed for consistency.

We’ll be hosting a follow back tomorrow btw. See you then, hopefully ✌️

⚡️ What an incredible night it was! I had the privilege of being honored at the prestigious Pacific Palisades Awards Gala. Not only was I presented with the esteemed Golden Spark Plug Award, but I also received certificates of recognition from an impressive lineup of distinguished individuals.

To my right stood The City of Los Angeles Councilwoman Traci Park, while to my left was Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin from the California State Legislature. I was also recognized by Mayor Karen Bass, California Senate Ben Allen, the County of Los Angeles, Los Angeles City Attorney Hydee Felstein, and Brad Sherman of the US Congress.

The photo couldn't capture all the certificates, as there were simply too many to hold up! All the way on the left is Ryan, one of the Resilient Palisades co-founders, who gave the most moving speech about me, which Jordan recorded luckily. I’ll be posting that later for my permanent records. All the way to the right is Maryam Zar, President of the Pacific Palisades Community Council.

Gentle Barn: King was rescued from wandering the desert with his sister, Duchess. With no food, water or shelter, they were desperate and exhausted. Concerned neighbors who had seen them out in the desert for months called us and asked us to save them. When we brought them home they were terrified of us at first, but soon learned to trust us and even ate out of our hands. They lived together in our barnyard in harmony for years, until Duchess passed away of old age. King depended on Duchess very much and she always took the lead. When she passed away King grew up almost overnight and became the King of the sheep and goats. He settles arguments between them, he gently bosses them around, and at night he stays up and watches over them so they can sleep safe. He loves eating bananas, horse cookies, and taking selfies. He has a smile on his face all the time, and makes adorable sounds when he thinks you have a treat. Because we rescued them as adults, we are not sure how old King is, but we hope he graces our barnyard from many more years to come!
