Philly’s own lil’dave (@lildave215) shares his dance remix of “Til They’re Free,” a song caught by Samantha Rise (@samantharise) while originally supporting a global strike for liberation in solidarity with all oppressed people, including those in Palestine, Sudan, and Congo.
Collaborating across state borders, Philadelphia producer Benn Kuhn mixed Rise’s raw Instagram recording with studio recordings of parts by moon king (vocals) and Pax Ressler (keys), forming the original production. Now, lil’dave offers a bouncing remix, blending the above elements with staccato drums, swelling strings, and a deep sub bass. The result is a retooled dance track extended the original’s liberatory dance energy later into the night.
Mixed by Sam O.B. at Sway Studios, “Til They’re Free” and its remix are released in solidarity with movements to end genocide internationally. All sales of the single will be offered to a mutual aid network supporting Palestinians emigrating from Gaza. You can also send funds directly: amalhaddad (Venmo) / adelyhaddad (Paypal).
