April 1941, Easter Sunday, Chicago, - The only one of the five boys that has been identified is the tall, teenager in the middle wearing the yellow jacket. Spencer Lee Readus, Jr., who was 14 when the photo was taken went on to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II and built a career as a plaster foreman.
According to his daughter, he remembered the day as, “I was going to the show on Easter Sunday and a white man approached me to ask if he could take a picture of me and these other boys.” Photo by Russell Lee, colorized by Rishi Colors. 🔍 ..https://www.facebook.com/ngeamazingHistory

By 1918, half of the cars in the United States were Ford Model Ts. The explosion in production was possible thanks to a revolution in manufacturing at Ford’s Highland Park factory. During the early years of the Ford Motor Company, groups of two or three men made just a few cars a day. But by adopting new principles of management, Henry Ford made an early and influential stab at what became known as the mass production system.

Jarlshof in Shetland, Scotland, was discovered after severe storms in the late 19th century washed away part of the shore, revealing ancient buildings dating from 2500 BC up to the 17th century AD.

The name Jarlshof means ‘Earl’s Mansion’, coined by Sir Walter Scott who visited the site in 1814 and based it on the Scottish period name of ‘the laird’s house’, even though there is no evidence that a Norse ‘jarl’ (or Earl) ever lived there.
