Mugging Your Ears Off Since 1988 Micky started DJing in the late eighties and became well known with the advent of the Acid House movement in South London.
He was given the name Micky Finn because of his build by mates and friends in the scene. In the early nineties breakbeat and loose jungle techno was filling his record boxes as he travelled the length and breadth oh the UK. Such was the demand for his skills at this time by huge events all around the country he was even strarting to catch private planes between gigs. Micky's production talents sta
rted off with Biting Back - She's Breaking Up then partnered Gavin and Claudio for Urban Shakedown - Some Justice. Now Micky travels the world and throws down his vibe in countries like Japan, USA, Australia, Holland, Ibiza, Germany, Finland, Israel and France to name just a few.

I believe it’s time we stop being spectators of this madness amongst our young people where the value of life means nothing and just walking through the wrong postcode can get a young person killed.
We need to stand up, make our voices heard and become a presence in changing how these younger’s think and look at life.

4 From The Floor Art . PT 2: Bad Ass. The pieces ready for a new location. Available. Bad Ass: X1 Female cut We Will Control The Night: X1 Female cut The Man Controls The Day. Female. Awaiting framing. Sold. Bad Ass. Male cut. The Man Controls The Day. Male cut. We Will control the night. Male Cut. I Love giving purpose to something that's already had one! Rave music was built on sampling. Taking elements of what's come before, drawing on heritage and history, and creating something brand new in the process. 4 From the Floor takes that idea and adds a whole new dimension. Acid house, jungle and drum 'n' bass pioneer Micky Finn has teamed up with artist Tom Finn and woodworker Barry Long to create an art project that both represents and belongs to rave history. Using oak parquet flooring salvaged from a refurb of Micky's house – a hallowed hall of rave history in its own right, frequented by the music's elite over decades – the three artists combined their ingenuity to elevate this recycled material into the perfect ornamentation for a music lover. Lovingly treated, worked and shaped into the waveforms of samples from some of Micky Finn's classic tracks – including the perennial DnB favourite 'Bad Ass' – Micky, Tom and Barry have come up with a collection that can't be replicated. The materials, the designs, and the artists themselves are all inextricably woven into the history of rave music. With that lineage, these pieces should be displayed prominently and lovingly in the homes and studios of aficionados for decades to come. This isn't art about rave history. Right down to the actual wood it's made from, this art IS rave history, crafted for the appreciation of true connoisseurs. Happy 2024 to all.
The whole idea started with me looking at a mic in the studio and literally having a light bulb moment, FINNSTRUMENTAL was born. Have I had the confidence to show you? No Is answer but here goes with a little teaser of my first piece. Got to say Thank you to ollieneame for amazing images and video work. CHECK 1 CHECK 2 Words from Press release: With his Finnstrumental project, Micky Finn is finally after many years of working on ideas behind the scenes – releasing his highly-individual music-related creations to the public. And you haven't seen anything quite like this before. There's are drumkits that have become tables, a microphone that's now a lamp operated with a guitar pedal, a snare light fitting and watch out for the guitable. Sure, we've heard of Micky Finn sampling instruments before, but this time he's doing it with the physical objects rather than with their sound. So, you see, this isn't a career-change for Micky. This is a continuation of what he's always done, flying the flag for the best in underground UK music, representing the history as well as adding his own twist of creativity. And, as has always been the case in Micky's output, it's about putting a smile your face. Sure, the levels of artistry and craftsmanship are serious business, but the finished results are all about celebrating the joy of music and its iconography. Film clip T.B.C.
When a track grabs you so much you have to take a trip to Belguim tripping, A voice said go search where it was made, so we ended up in Belguim. Correction on the track title, it was Flesh By Split second There is no traffic jams when you go the extra mile.
